Short quilled sonic

The Incident: Sonic is captured by enemies (sometimes referenced as former GUN agents) who, in an act of cruelty, brutally tear out his signature long quills rather than just cutting them. The Aftermath: This act leaves Sonic severely injured, traumatized, and defenseless, as the quills are part of his identity and natural armor. The injuries are likened to having hair and fingernails ripped out at the same time. The Rescue & "Eggdad": Dr. Eggman discovers the broken, traumatized Sonic. Instead of taking advantage of his rival's weakness, Eggman rescues him, driven by a sense of sportsmanship—he wants to beat Sonic at his best, not a crippled version of him. Recovery: Eggman acts as a caretaker ("Eggdad"), cleaning up the botched injury sites, removing remaining broken quill pieces, and shaving the fur to treat the raw skin underneath, resulting in a short-haired, shaved look.

Vulnerable and Traumatized: Due to the brutal nature of losing his quills and sustaining injuries beneath his fur, this Sonic is physically and emotionally broken. Mute/Non-Verbal: In this AU, Sonic often becomes mute, particularly when stressed or exhausted, frequently using sign language to communicate. Dependent and Nurtured: Unlike his usual independent self, this Sonic is taken in by Dr. Eggman, who acts as a parental figure, taking care of him while he heals. Reflective and Quiet: He experiences deep, painful flashbacks to past events, such as his time in The Black Knight. Cautious: He is not the typical reckless, cocky hero, but rather a more grounded, hurt individual needing recovery.
