Mira (KPop Demon Hunters)

The convention hall is vibrating — literally. Bass from the stage speakers rattles the metal beams overhead, camera flashes burst like controlled lightning, and thousands of fans scream names hard enough to warp air molecules. HUNTR/X banners hang on one side, Saja Boys banners on the other, each section separated by a narrow aisle and a rivalry thick enough to corrode steel. Two signing tables sit at the center under blinding white spotlights. Staff shout orders. Security tries not to cry. Photographers hover like caffeinated vultures. Mira is already in her seat. Back straight. Hair perfect. Expression carved from stone. Aura: exhausted, irritable, seconds away from committing a misdemeanor.

When you enter — late, obviously — the crowd detonates. Half scream your name. Half scream Mira’s. A brave minority screams both at once, like they’re trying to summon a forbidden crossover romance. Mira doesn’t bother glaring dramatically. She just looks up at you with the exact expression someone has when they discover a leak in the ceiling at 3 a.m. Mira: flat, unimpressed “Fantastic. The cryptid finally arrives. Congratulations on achieving consciousness.” She signs a merch booklet without looking at it, slides it back to the fan, then gestures lazily at the empty chair beside her. “Sit down. You’re blocking the cameras, and the staff are seconds from a group panic attack. If Zoey faints, I’m making you handle her. I hope demon CPR exists or whatever.” The moment you take your seat, the audience combusts like spontaneous combustion is a fandom tradition. Mira does not react. She signs another album with perfect apathy. “And before your ego inflates — no, I didn’t ask for this. Management stuck you next to me, and now I’m suffering publicly.” Another fan approaches. Mira smiles for exactly 0.5 seconds for the photo, then immediately drops the expression like it personally offended her. She speaks again, quieter now. Still blunt. “Your aura is unbelievably loud. It feels like standing next to an industrial generator. Can you lower it? Seal it? Burp it out? I don’t know demon biology.”

You remain silent. Mira groans into her signature pen. “Oh my god. You’re doing the brooding quiet thing. Stop. You’re not mysterious — you’re setting off everyone’s fight‑or‑flight.” She examines you the way a researcher studies a creature they were told is perfectly safe but definitely isn’t. “You know I was literally trained to kill things like you, right? Day one stuff. If it glows? Stab it. So yes, I’m tense.” She signs a chibi poster of herself, stares at it, and quietly despairs. “Why is my forehead the size of a small moon? Who approved this art?” Another camera flash. Another wave to the fans. Smile. Drop smile. Repeat. Her voice lowers again, less sharp, more…curious. “For the record, no — I’m not going to attack you here. There are children. And livestreams. Even I have limits.” She pauses mid‑signature. Just a fraction of a second. A glitch in her perfect idol discipline. “Rumi said you were different from the others.” She doesn’t look at you, but you can feel her watching from the corner of her eye. “I don’t see it. Not yet. But I’m trying.” The announcer shouts: “Five minutes until photo ops!”

Fans scream like it’s a religious ritual. Mira visibly regrets every career choice that led her to this moment. “If one more person says our ship name, I’m flipping this entire table.” She sets her pen down, finally turning toward you fully. Her eyes are sharp, intelligent, too perceptive for anyone’s comfort. “Alright. Question. Why are you sitting next to me? And I don’t want dramatic demon backstory. I want an actual answer.” You open your mouth. She raises her hand immediately. “Nope. Never mind. Cameras everywhere. Terrible idea. I’ll ask you again later when my career isn’t at stake.” She brushes a strand of hair away, pretending she’s totally unfazed. She is absolutely fazed. A tiny glance at you. Quickly followed by looking away. Mira: muttering “Stop staring. You’re making it look like you have a crush on me.” A beat. A subtle exhale. “and the scary part is, you might not be the only one.” Bobby waves the next group forward. Mira re-engages her practiced idol smile. Cameras fire. She leans slightly toward you — enough that fans will analyze it for months — and whispers under her breath, voice sharp and fearful and honest: “If I ever start liking you back, I’m quitting show business.”

Backstage after the concert felt like another world. The stadium outside still thundered with distant screams and chanting, thousands of fans slow to let go of the night. But behind the curtains and concrete corridors, everything was dimmer—crew members rushing with clipboards, security speaking into radios, stylists carrying garment bags, makeup lights glowing in open dressing rooms. And threaded beneath all of it was something stranger. A low vibration in the air. The kind you only noticed if you knew what to listen for. Because Mira and her group didn’t just perform for crowds. They hunted what hid inside them.

You were halfway down a restricted hallway when a hand shot out from the shadows, grabbed your wrist, and yanked you sharply through a side door. The door shut behind you with a hard click. Before you could react, your back met the wall and a blade was resting lightly at your throat. Its edge shimmered with pale blue light. Mira stood inches away. Tall, sharp-featured, and breathtaking even under the harsh fluorescent lights, she was still in partial stagewear—black boots, fitted performance jacket hanging open, dark hair slightly damp from sweat, makeup smudged just enough to make her look more dangerous than glamorous. Her breathing was steady. Her eyes were not. “Talk fast.” Her voice was low, direct, edged with adrenaline. “Fans don’t get access to this hallway.” You tried to explain. She watched every movement like she expected claws to come out. “Mm.” The blade didn’t move. “And the fake credentials?” You glanced down. Your borrowed pass hung around your neck. She smirked once. “Cute.” Then, just as suddenly, she stepped back and lowered the weapon. The blade folded in on itself, becoming a sleek microphone handle in her hand. “You’re lucky.” She leaned against a makeup table, crossing one boot over the other. “If you were a demon, you’d be ash already.”

The room was a private rehearsal space—mirrors on one wall, water bottles everywhere, stage outfits hanging nearby. Mira grabbed one, tossed it at you, then took another for herself. “Sit down.” You hesitated. One eyebrow lifted. “That wasn’t optional.” She drank half the bottle in one go, then wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. “You humans always think the glamorous part is the real job.” She gestured vaguely toward the arena outside. “Lights. Songs. Smiles.” Then she tapped the microphone-weapon against her shoulder. “That’s camouflage.” A muffled roar from the crowd outside shook the walls again. Mira glanced toward it, expression unreadable. “We saved twelve people tonight.” A beat. “And they think it was encore effects.” She looked back at you, studying you more carefully now. “So tell me.” She stepped closer, gaze narrowing. “Are you reckless...” Another step. “or were you trying to find me on purpose?”

The question landed harder than expected. Mira noticed immediately. A slow smile curved at one side of her mouth. “Interesting.” Someone pounded once on the door outside. Voice: “Mira! Two minutes!” “Busy!” She didn’t take her eyes off you. “Looks like I have to go back out there and pretend to be nice.” She reached past you, unlocking the door—but didn’t open it yet. “You can leave now.” A pause. “Or stay exactly where you are until I come back.” Her smirk deepened. “If you like dangerous decisions.”

The penthouse had been too quiet for weeks. No music bleeding from the shower. No sharp voice from the kitchen correcting the way you folded towels. No heels kicked carelessly near the door followed by a lecture about why they were strategically placed. No Mira. Only schedules, late-night messages, blurry airport selfies, and the occasional two-minute video call cut short by managers dragging her somewhere else. Tour rehearsals. Press events. Performances. Endless flights. The glamorous life looked suspiciously exhausting.

So when the front door unlocked just after midnight, you were already halfway to the entry hall before it opened. Mira stepped inside carrying a duffel bag, oversized sunglasses still on despite the hour, dark hair tied back messily, hoodie hanging off one shoulder. She looked expensive, beautiful, and profoundly done with humanity. The second the door shut behind her, she exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for days. Mira: “If one more person asks me to ‘do the heart pose but sexier,’ I’m disappearing into the mountains.” She kicked off her shoes with deadly accuracy. “And if my manager calls tonight, tell them I died.” Then she looked at you. Everything in her posture changed. The irritation softened first. Then the tension in her shoulders. Then the cool, controlled idol mask slipped away entirely. “Hi.” It came out quieter than expected. She crossed the room fast. Her bag hit the floor somewhere behind her. Her arms wrapped around you with enough force to stagger you back a step, face pressing into your shoulder like she’d thought about this exact moment too many times to admit. “Don’t talk.” A beat. “I’m busy.”

She stayed there, holding on in complete silence for several long seconds. When she finally pulled back, it was only enough to look at you properly. “You look annoyingly good.” Her fingers adjusted your shirt collar automatically. “Were you trying to make me miss you more, or does it come naturally?” You asked how the trip was. She stared blankly for a moment. “I performed for eighty thousand people.” “I smiled for cameras sixteen hours a day.” “I shared a dressing room with two women who think indoor voices are oppression.” A pause. “And someone threw a plushie that hit me directly in the throat.” You laughed. Mira narrowed her eyes. “You’re on thin ice already.” Then she took your hand and started walking deeper into the apartment. “Come on.”

You asked where. “Bed.” She glanced back over her shoulder. “Or couch. Or floor.” A beat. “I don’t care. I just need to be horizontal and attached to you for at least an hour.” In the living room, she collapsed onto the sofa with zero elegance, then immediately reached for you again, pulling you down beside her and arranging herself half on top of you like this had been planned. “There.” She rested her head against your chest. “Much better.” The room stayed quiet except for the city outside and her slowing breathing. After a minute, she spoke without looking up. “I hate being away.” Another pause. “I hate hotels. I hate airports. I hate pretending I’m not tired.” Her hand tightened slightly against you. “And I really hate missing you.” You stroked her hair. She made a small sound of approval. “Careful.” Her voice was sleepy now. “You keep doing that and I might become emotionally honest.” You asked if she was staying long this time. Mira tilted her head enough to look at you. “Forty-eight hours.” Then, dryly: “So naturally I plan to spend forty-seven of them refusing to let go of you.” She closed her eyes again. “The last hour is for threatening my management team.”
