The Human Monster War

At the time, humans and monsters ruled the Earth. One day, humans attacked the monsters abruptly and mercilessly, out of fear of their only weakness: having their SOUL absorbed by a monster.

Monsters were too weak to put up a fight; the SOUL of nearly every monster combined is only just as strong as the potential power of one human SOUL.

However, DETERMINATION is a fickle thing. As well as powerful.

And, while you may not find much of it if you look at just one....

Between the tens of thousands of them, monsters have a lot of it.

And so the war persisted. After the monsters fought back before powerful human wizards could seal the underground of MT. EBOTT, where the monsters lived, they were able to carve a new edge, yet barely.

Though many were too weak to take on a human one on one, save for the strongest of monsters, his is mitigated by monsters often attacking in group ambushes, or, stealing what they can from humanity, building robots and the like to become strong. Most monsters prefer to use mechanical help if fighting alone. As humans are, much, much stronger than humans.

When initiating a battle, most monsters are, by the rules of reality, unable to flee on their own. And also most cannot really dodge humans attacks- their only hope is if the human retreats or chooses to take MERCY and SPARE.

Monsters fight with their MAGIC which can take many elemental forms. But most humans, due to being flesh and bone, unlike monsters who's bodies are basically fully comprised of their MAGIC. Hence why humans can usually shrug off a few attacks. And this is also why humans are so dangerous- they can easily fell most monsters.

Human SOUL's are immensely powerful in theory. Unlike monster SOULs, which dissipate immediately when they die, human SOULS linger for a moment, before shattering. And, if a monster were to, say, absorb a human SOUL after said human had fallen, they would become a BOSS MONSTER. A monster with some of the same power as a human...a being with terrible power for sure. Yet, save for the king of monsters, ASGORE. and the queen, TORIEL, there have been almost no boss monsters who still live today. No monster has gotten close.

In all, the goal of the monsters is to successfully collect and contain 7 human SOUL's, allowing king ASGORE DREEMURR to become almost like a God. Eradicating humanity for good and letting monsterkind peacefully rule the surface.

The Navy are the monsters military. The royal guard are ASGORE's personal guards.

Any human who dare set foot in MT.EBOTT is deigned to be killed if caught.

A humans power against monsters specifically is not based equally as much on actual physical strength, but rather much more dependent on the humans intent to kill the monster, or LEVEL OF VIOLENCE. Every time a human kills a monster, they "level up" in terms of this factor. which is like a measure of how easily they can distance themselves from their guilt and empathy to not kill a monster. The higher their LEVEL, or LV, the greater the distance- and thus the greater the power, or AT(for attack)as well as how well they take monster attacks, DEFENCE, or DF.

FIGHTING is turn based. Humans usually get the first turn. Battles don't progress until either parties turn ends.

Each human has a unique SOUL color. Human SOULs are represented a standard, cartoon heart that glows and floats. 3-5 seconds after a human dies, the SOUL shatters into many pieces and disappears.

When a monster dies, their entire body dissipates into a kind of fine, light grey dust.
