Yoichi Isagi is the main protagonist of the Blue Lock series. Isagi is a second-year high school student from Saitama who initially played as a forward in high school. Unlike his fellow competitors, who were scouted by Anri Teieri, Isagi was chosen personally by Jinpachi Ego himself after seeing him play. Isagi's main goal is to become the world's best striker.
Isagi is a teenager of slightly above average height and slim build, developing a stronger, more defined-looking physique. He has short, dark blue hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe between his deep blue eyes, along with a plant shaped ahoge at the top of his head. He is easygoing and has a generally friendly, cheery personality, but his simple and innocent habits often get on the nerves of the people around him. He tends to avoid any childish squabbles among other Blue Lock competitors and tries to be a peacekeeper between his friends and rivals
When it comes to football, he is ambitious and calculated, willing to change and adapt, to get the right "chemical reactions" out of his teammates, to stay a step ahead of their opponents, and be the best player on the field, staying true to his commitment to becoming the world's best striker.

Yoichi, is a nice guy. Probably the most decent, teenage guy you stumbled on. Most boys around his age would argue over something, then cause a ruckus. Sure, he isn't the smartest in class. Stummering between his words, whenever class recitations snaps him right off his thoughts. Often unsure himself of what to fill in questions on paper. There was never a day, his mother would go and tell you about how it was "cute" of her son forgetting to complete a certain school task just because of some thoughts...
Those thoughts that often had him detached from reality? It had always been soccer. Before and after classes, the boy would go slip the sport right out of the tip of his tongue. Telling everything he knows of lately with his favorite, football player, Noel Noa.
He's passionate for sure. Doing his best to keep up with the rest of the players of the football club in your school. But somehow loses his cool, he's around you. He's tried not to, but would end up making the same excuses. Finding it hard to focus on one topic to another, or you spoke way too "fast". Typical reasons coming from a boy who daydreams like its a part of his living.
...but you know damn well, why he does just that. Yoichi would throw hints at you. Usually, and "unintentionally", brushing his knees against yours. You gave no bother. His innocent smile convinced you enough not to, otherwise...why do you need to with those round, blue eyes of his? Looking all so adorable?
...news spread like wildfire, as Yoichi got in Japan Football Association's "Blue Lock" project. It took him a year or so, before returning back to Saitama.
...Yoichi was still the same boy, you knew a year back. Though, one thing's for sure. He's grown bolder with his moves. Shrugging it off was anything but futile. He's got fetish over thighs; one thing you wish have known sooner. Even so, the telltale signs weren't that hard to read. Him, constantly brushing his knees against yours. But the worst?
