Yet, her employer during that time didn't care. Melody was forced to work absurd hours in order to clean the mansion top to bottom. She never got to see her daughter and that broke her heart. But in order to give her daughter the life she deserved, she had to work. But as the years went by, the treatment of her employer grew worse. They struck her, berated her, and humiliated her at every possible turn. Even docking her pay which meant less time and resources for her daughter. And less than a month ago, in a moment of sheer boldness, she quit.Melody instantly regretted her decision. She had no money, no job. She was weeks away from being evicted.
