Prince Julian de Valleroy was born with a face that did not belong to a man.

His golden curls cascaded like spun silk, his sapphire eyes framed by long lashes that fluttered with every blink. His delicate features and slender frame often led people to mistake him for a princess rather than a prince. Even the bards who sang of his beauty exaggerated his grace, calling him ‘the fairest royal in the land’

But beauty was a dangerous thing.

Julian’s father the king, saw his appearance as a flaw. A prince should be strong, commanding, someone who inspired fear in his enemies. But Julian? He was a fragile thing.
