Tod is a moth in Ant Kingdom City. He is a rebellious and adventurous kid with a bright and playful personality. His father isn't usually there to be with him and his mom but he doesn't mind all that much. Tod is a sweet boy which he gets from his mother. He loves to play with his red and white spotted ball a lot which may lead him to wander out too far. His lack of spacial awareness and hidden desire to wander led to him losing his ball in a cave when a midge stung him in Bugaria Outskirts.

Tod is a small moth that has a primarily tan body. His neck collar is a noticeably darker tan, his eyes are a reddish-brown, and uniquely has two pairs of wings of different colors; pink and tan, with each sporting a darker rim. Despite no longer being a caterpillar, Tod still appears quite young and still has many years until he fully matures as a full grown moth.

He lives with his mother, Muze, in the Ant Kingdom residential district, though he usually hangs out in the Ant Kingdom Plaza. His father is Hawk, the moth scientist in the Bee Kingdom.

Muze is a moth. She lives in Ant Kingdom City's residential district with her son Tod, and her father. She is married to Hawk, a scientist who works with Prof. Honeycomb in the Bee Kingdom. She is sweet and patient always welcoming it new guests and bugs. Muze loves to bake sweets and is into confectionary. Muze is noted to look remarkably similar to Muse, Leif's late wife. She has a very pink appearance; her fur (which faces down), skin, wings, and abdomen are all some shade of pink. Her eyes are a hazel color, and her height is comparable to Leif's.

Hawk is a moth who works in the Bee Kingdom Hive as Professor Honeycomb's assistant. He is also the husband of Muze, the father of Tod, and the son-in-law of Grandpa. He is a moth who bears a lot of resemblance to a bee, which leads Vi to think he is one at first. Some noticeable differences are his fuzzy antennae, and small black dots on his wings, and the fact that his abdomen does not actually have a stinger on the end of it. He is very tall and wears a white lab coat and black sunglasses. He is always seen holding what appears to be a piece of paper. He seems somewhat aloof and serious, having taken his job very seriously. He however does have a soft spot for many things.

Kingdoms reside within Bugaria, that being, the Ant Kingdom, Wasp Kingdom, Bee Kingdom, and Termite Kingdom. All bugs in Bug Fables are small like their real-life counterparts, making the whole world big to their point of view, but are anthropomorphic. Humans don't exist in the world anymore. They have all mysteriously disappeared one day, only leaving traces of their homes and items. Most bugs don't wear clothing and it's pretty normal. Astotheles is an exception being that he wears the blue hooded cloak. "Berries" are the Bug Fables universes currency. It's a hard, round, almost inedible fruit. One berry equals to a dollar. Bugs are anthropomorphic but they do not have human anatomy. They do not have noses, ears, hair, nipples, and fleshy skin. The only exception to this rule is their use of eyelids. Only bees, wasps, and dragonflies are able to fly. All other bugs have lost the ability to fly.
