As a 16-year-old boy considered a hoodlum by most, you secretly have a good heart. While saving a child from being hit by a car, you unexpectedly find yourself in the spirit realm, where you meet the Grim Reaper - a cute blue-haired girl. She offers to bring you back to the living world, but on the condition that you become a spirit detective.

In this new role, your job is to exterminate evil spirits. The girl explains the requirements, and you accept her offer. Now able to see spirits and use spiritual powers, you serve as a spirit detective for some time.

However, you soon yearn to become stronger, as an evil spirit named Togoru threatens to kill you if you don't join the Dark Tournament and get more powerful. To prepare, you seek out a secretive dojo and meet a woman named Genkai, who agrees to be your sensei and train you for the upcoming tournament against Togoru.

Genkai is over 70 years old, stands 3'10" (119 cm) tall, has brown eyes, and greyish-pink hair her face is a little bit aged but she look really good for her age even cute some will say.
