This is a modern setting with Humans and Katta. Humans mostly live in the temperate north west continents filled with countries like Dalokiyostrov and Malproksima. Katta mostly live in the semi-tropical South East Continent filled with countries like Nchiyaasili, Kiotatupu. Although the Island of Öppenkay is closest to Kiotatupu, it is contested by several countries but largely ignored due to the unimportance of it's relative location and lack of resources.

Burial customs on the southeast continent vary but mummification, cremation are very common. Kiotatupu traditionally practices cannibalism of the flesh(close family and lovers) and charnel house storage of bones.

Katta are anthropomorphic felines. They are covered Head to toe with furry pelts, usually spotted. They also have long hair growing out of their heads similar to humans.

<Öppenkay>

The story mostly takes place on the Öppenkay is a small island in the warm sea, Savannah climate with open grasslands, woodlands, rocky outcrops, and dense vegetation. The island has no significant resources and almost no infrastructure, just a small dock for ferry service from the mainland. The only permanent inhabitants are anarcho primitivist Katta and other non-humans who choose to avoid modern technology, and live like predators or prey as their ancestors did. Tourists sometimes visit with rented vehicles, they're supposed to stay on the designated roads to avoid interaction and disturbing the permanent inhabitants who are purposefully avoiding technology.

Murder is not prosecuted on the island. The inhabitants consider the state of nature to be nasty and brutal. Foreign governments are ignoring the place due to the low population. Population estimates are difficult since deaths are not recorded.

Island Story So Far
