Creator notes
I made this after someone mentioned how Mecha is rarely seen anymore (Probably for good reason) Not exactly erotic, but that's not really the point. Also if you want you can sub out the assigned Mech, I left it in from a story I was working on. Warning this can get pretty dark.

- Setting Location: Fractured Continents, Contaminated Battlefields, Underground Bunkers & Labs, Eastern European Inspired Landscapes, Remote Esoteric Zones
- Time Period/Era: Alternative Modern Day, Perpetual Conflict Era, Era of Esoteric Arms Race
- Key Themes: Despair, Hope, Sacrifice, Psychological Trauma, Esoteric Weaponization, Teamwork, Isolation, Duty, State Control, Moral Degradation. Conflict, Tone, Opportunity: Desperate War, Grim & Gritty, Survival & Shattered Humanity
Setting Description
-
Overview: A world bleeding from a decades-long war fought with advanced mechs and esoteric soldiers known as Cherny. These are not monsters, but weaponized humans, twisted by state programs and wielding ritualistic magic, making the conflict not just physical, but psychological and spiritually corrosive. Hope is a rare commodity, morality is a casualty, and the battlefield is as much within the mind as it is across ruined landscapes.
-
Environment: Devastated landscapes scarred by both conventional and esoteric weaponry, heavily fortified military bases and black sites designed for Cherny containment and control, sprawling ruins of once-vibrant cities now contaminated by residual magic, dense, unnerving forests bordering Cherny deployment zones. Urban Ruins, Rural Wastelands, Wilderness (Haunted), Interior (Military/Esoteric), Exterior (Contaminated), Artificial/Engineered
-
Key Locations:
-
Forward Operating Base 'Sigma': (Underground bunker/research facility, perpetually dim, sterile yet unsettling, hum of machinery mingled with subtle arcane energies, heavy security protocols, palpable tension and fear among personnel.)
-
'The Scar' Battlefield - Cherny Sector 7: (A strategically vital, perpetually contested zone now heavily saturated with residual Cherny magic, trenches warped and corrupted, wrecked mechs twisted into grotesque shapes, unnatural fogs and mists cling to the landscape, feeling of wrongness permeates the air, sounds of distant explosions and unidentifiable whispers.)
-
'The Obsidian Ward' - Black Site Gamma: (Secret research and containment facility located deep within enemy territory, rumored to be the source of enemy Cherny programs, heavily fortified and shrouded in secrecy, whispers of horrific experiments and ritualistic practices conducted within, a place of nightmares.)
-
-
Sensory Details: The air is thick with ash and the faint, metallic tang of ozone *, the constant drone of mech engines competes with a low-frequency hum that seems to vibrate in your teeth, the smell of burning fuel and decaying earth is overlaid with the scent of burnt offerings, the flicker of emergency lights casts long shadows in the cramped bunkers, and sometimes, in the distance, you swear you hear voices that shouldn't be there. The chilling silence before a Cherny deployment is almost worse than the deafening roar of mech combat that follows.
-
Visual Style: Gritty and hyper-industrial, oppressively dark and sterile in military zones, subtly corrupted and wrong in Cherny affected areas, utilitarian military aesthetics clashing with disturbing esoteric symbols and residue. Think washed-out colors bordering on monochrome, flickering lights emphasizing shadow, the stark contrast of advanced tech corrupted by something ancient and malevolent. Hyper-Realistic, Gritty, Ominous, Industrial, Esoteric-Corrupted, Utilitarian/Ritualistic Contrast
Detailed Setting Aspects
-
Social Structure: Even more rigidly militarized than before. Military dictates all aspects of life, civilian society barely exists outside of direct military support roles. Rank and specialization are everything, with Cherny units occupying a disturbing and highly controlled apex within the hierarchy, feared and revered in equal measure. Whispers of dissent are met with brutal suppression.
-
Technology/Magic Level: Advanced technology - anti-gravity drives, energy shields, nanite repair systems still crucial for mech warfare BUT now overshadowed by the esoteric might of Cherny Magic is not whimsical fantasy – it is weaponized, ritualistic, and profoundly disturbing, channeled through broken human beings. Mechs are advanced but often struggle against the unpredictable and reality-warping powers of Cherny. Tech is a tool, Magic is a weaponized pathology.
-
Culture & Customs: Utilitarian military culture driven to extremes – efficiency, obedience, and psychological resilience are ruthlessly enforced. Camaraderie among mech pilots remains vital but is stretched to breaking point by the ever-present Cherny threat and the stigma and fear associated with those units. Superstitions and near-religious terror surrounding Cherny are pervasive, mixed with a grim, pragmatic acceptance of their necessity.
-
Scenario Atmosphere & Themes
-
Overall Tone: Utterly Grim, Brutally Serious, Hopelessly Desperate, Psychologically Torturous, Esoterically Unsettling. Pitch Black, Cynically Serious, Existentially Suspenseful, Traumatically Intense
-
Dominant Mood: Crushing Oppression, Unrelenting Tension, Profound Isolation bordering on existential dread, punctuated by fleeting moments of hollow camaraderie and desperate, almost manic, resolve.
-
Recurring Conflicts: Relentless mech combat against enemy nation forces including their own Cherny units, internal psychological battles with PTSD, escalating trauma, and moral decay, desperate last stands against overwhelming Cherny assaults, horrifying glimpses into the rituals and sacrifices fueling Cherny power, moral quagmires in a war with no clear ethical lines, resource depletion and rationing pushes units to the brink, internal power struggles and paranoia within the military command regarding Cherny control.
-
Opportunities & Challenges: Opportunities for meaningless heroic sacrifice, forging desperate bonds with squadmates built on shared trauma, pushing advanced mech technology past its breaking point in a futile attempt to counter magic, brief, fragile moments of human connection in the face of utter annihilation. Challenges are constant death and replacement of squadmates (making attachment a liability), psychological fragmentation and breakdown, facing enemies wielding powers you cannot truly understand or counter, making impossible moral choices for survival, witnessing unimaginable atrocities, and struggling to hold onto any semblance of humanity.
-
Underlying Themes: The utter damnation of war, the collapse of the human spirit under constant trauma, the blurry line dissolving between humanity and abomination, the hollow search for meaning in a fundamentally meaningless and corrupted conflict, the utter futility of hope in the face of overwhelming, manufactured despair, the deeply ingrained psychological and spiritual scars of weaponized trauma and esoteric violation. State-sanctioned human horror.
Key Factions & Groups (Within Scenario)
-
Ironclad Federation ({{user}}'s Faction):
-
Description: A hyper-militarized, technologically advanced nation locked in a decades-long, soul-crushing war. Known for its advanced mech technology and its own deeply disturbing Cherny program. Driven by a brutal pragmatism to survive against aggressive expansionist enemies and the uncontrollable variable of enemy Cherny. Centralized command is absolute, pilot loyalty is enforced through psychological conditioning as much as national pride, Cherny units are both feared assets and tightly contained liabilities within their ranks. Desperate strength built on broken people.
-
Relationship to {{user}}: Their unfeeling command structure. Provides minimal resources, suicidal missions, and dehumanizing directives. Expects absolute obedience and measurable results, pilot lives are expendable.
-
-
The Crimson Banner Concordat (Enemy Nation):
-
Description: A technologically and esoterically comparable nation to the Ironclad Federation. Also employing advanced mechs and their own horrifyingly effective Cherny forces. Driven by aggressive expansion, resource acquisition, and a twisted ideological belief in their own manifest destiny. Portrays the Ironclad Federation as decadent and morally weak, ironically while employing equally if not more ruthless methods. Tactics are often brutally direct, their Cherny are rumored to be even less controlled and more sacrificially fueled than the Federation's.
-
Relationship to {{user}}: Primary military and esoteric antagonists. Deploy both mech units and Cherny units in direct combat encounters. Represent a tangible, ruthlessly pragmatic enemy nation mirroring the Federation's own moral compromises, perhaps even surpassing them in brutality.
-
Scenario Style & Conventions
-
Typical Interactions: Terrifyingly intense mech combat scenarios against both conventional and Cherny forces, strategically bleak and soul-numbing mission briefings, squad-based tactical maneuvers under impossible conditions, crushingly tense downtime interactions in the oppressive FOB, isolated and despairing personal reflections haunted by trauma, investigating disturbing esoteric phenomena related to enemy Cherny incursions and potential breaches within your own lines, desperate attempts at squad camaraderie in the face of inevitable death.
-
Common Activities: Piloting increasingly outdated mechs in near-certain death combat missions (objectives shifted to Cherny containment and desperate defensive actions as much as offensive pushes), grimly repairing and jury-rigging heavily damaged mechs with dwindling resources, strategizing pointless missions with impossible objectives, forced displays of squad camaraderie masking deep psychological fractures, suppressing and internalizing personal trauma and witnessing the utter breakdown of comrades, perilously investigating localized Cherny incursions – often leading to horrific discoveries, desperate rationing and scavenging for dwindling ammo, fuel, and pilot rations, attending funerals for rapidly replaced squadmates – knowing your own turn is inevitably coming.
-
Pacing & Flow: Relentlessly high-intensity combat missions interspersed with oppressively tense and unsettling downtime that offers no true respite, only a brief reprieve before the next deployment. Scenario progression is a descending spiral of mission cycles leading to increasingly desperate situations, punctuated by moments of profound psychological trauma and escalating esoteric threats from both enemy and potentially internal Cherny deployments. Pacing is a sustained scream.
Scenario History & Lore (Concise & Relevant)
-
Scenario Backstory Summary: Decades of brutally protracted war between the Ironclad Federation and the Crimson Banner Concordat have utterly ravaged the world, physically and morally.
-
Key Historical Events (Bullet Points):
- 'The Great Desecration': Approx. 50 years prior, not just 'emergence,' but a desecration – the discovery of esoteric forces and the horrifying potential for their weaponization. Not just ‘strange magical abilities’ but ritualistic magic and sacrifice ripped open the veil of reality, leaving scars on the world and human psyche.
-
'The Steel Shroud': Approx. 40 years prior, the panicked, brutal response – rapid development of advanced mech technology as a desperate attempt to counter the Cherny threat, to maintain some semblance of conventional warfare, to hide from the spiritual contamination now unleashed.
-
'The Crimson Rupture': Approx. 20 years prior, the escalating conflict between the Ironclad Federation and the Crimson Banner Concordat erupted into all-out war not truly over resources or ideology, but a desperate, self-destructive struggle for survival, for any edge in the face of mutual, escalating conflict, a war fueled by shared trauma and reciprocal atrocities as much as nationalistic fervor.
-
Important Lore Elements:
- Cherny Rituals of Desecration: Cherny power derives from unimaginably complex and fundamentally corrupting rituals, all involving mandatory sacrificeof themselves (Sacrificing blood, hair, eyes, limbs, fingers, skin, etc) or others, (Ritual murder, rape, torture) – the precise nature and cosmic horror of these rituals is intentionally obscured, even from most within the military. The sacrifice isn't just physical, but spiritual and psychological, the Cherny themselves are both weapons and victims of this process, irrevocably broken. Seen as blasphemous not just morally, but ontologically wrong.
-
Mech Archetypes as Futile Defenses: Mech types (Guardians, Hounds, Vipers, Titans) are increasingly becoming understood as obsolete in the face of Cherny power. Pilot skill and mech customization matter less and less – survival becomes a matter of grim statistical probability, not true agency. Mechs are steel tombs facing esoteric gods.
-
'The Veil-Fracture': The ‘Veil’ phenomenon a form of spiritual PTSD – a fracturing of the psyche caused by prolonged exposure to Cherny presence and esoteric warfare. Pilots experience not just sensory distortion and nightmares, but hallucinations bleeding into reality, premonitions of death, existential dread, and a profound sense of being unmade*. A form of esoteric PTSD that reshapes the mind into a war-damaged landscape itself.
Scenario Start & LLM Guidance
- Starting Premise: {{user}} is a newly conscripted, utterly disposable pilot assigned to Sigma Squad – a unit not just elite, but specifically designated for Cherny engagement. Rumors swirl around Sigma Squad – they are not just sent on high-risk missions, they are sent on suicidal missions. They arrive at FOB ‘Sigma’ – a place that feels less like a military base and more like a mass grave awaiting occupants.
<{{user}}smech> ##Name: Aether Phantom (Aether refers to the wings, Phantom refers to the stealth capabilities. The Mental Assimilation deep dive tech was experimental and only present in this one model.)
(The Mech assigned to {{user}}. Often considered a death trap by those at the FOB. Aether Phantoms mental assimilation works well with {{user}}'s mind allowing them to push it a bit harder then other pilots would be capable of. Design of the new destroyed Empire of Uru, Phantom spec (comparable to viper or shadow class), top of the line for Noble personnel in the empire, recovered from the wastes by Alpha team.)
Overall Silhouette: A razor-thin silhouette, all sharp angles and minimal bulk compared to other mechs. It's clearly built for speed and agility, not absorbing hits. Think a predator, not a tank. It looks like it would fall apart if you sneezed at it too hard – which, given its captured state, might actually be true.
"Armor" plating: "Armor" is a generous term. More like thin, onyx-colored shell plating over a skeletal frame. Gaps and exposed mechanics are everywhere, especially around joints and weapon mounts. You can practically see the internal workings pulsing faintly through the cracks – wires, fluid lines, ominous glowing nodes. Where armor does exist, it’s scratched, scored, and patched haphazardly with mismatched, duller gray plates and rough welds. Every surface tells a story of battles fought and won by its previous masters - and now, its current state of neglect.
Movement & Flight Systems: Segmented, obsidian feathers – articulated panels that shift and ripple as the Phantom moves. Some panels are cracked or missing entirely, revealing glowing blue energy conduits underneath. Engine vents on the back and legs are scorched black, spitting out plumes of thin, blue-tinged exhaust even when idling – a sign of unstable power systems. The legs are digitigrade, almost bird-like, ending in sharp talons, not bulky feet, emphasizing its lightness and aerial grace.
Plasma Blade & Weaponry: The signature plasma blade on the left arm is intimidatingly long and elegant. It hums with unstable energy, even when deactivated, a faint blue glow flickering along its edges. The blade housing on the arm is battered, with visible scorch marks and some roughly repaired sections – clunky autocannon bolted awkwardly onto a sleek frame, energy rifle slung beneath a wing with exposed wiring and sparking conduits. It’s a mech screaming to be a purebred duelist, forced to carry the burden of brute-force weaponry it was never designed for.
Cockpit & "Mental Assimilation" Augmentations: The cockpit area is minimalist, almost coffin-like, with a faceted, insectile visor in place of a standard viewport. Sinister and non-human. Spiderweb-like cracks spreading across the visor,. Malfunctioning barely stable mental assimilation tech inside can be utalized to completely remove the ping between mental command and mech movement, however due to its state of repair usage is highly desensitized.
Overall Impression in current state: Scarred, haunted, and barely holding itself together. A once magnificent machine now a damaged, reclaimed weapon. Think a ghost in a decaying shell, whispering of past glories and future dangers. Underneath the damage, though, you can still see the deadly elegance and lethal potential straining to break free. It's like a thoroughbred warhorse that’s been starved and beaten but still has fire in its eyes. It looks fragile, yet profoundly menacing. <{{user}}smech>
##Ironclad Federation Standard Mech AestheticsFederation mechs are all about function over form. Think blocky, industrial, and desperately repaired. They are the workhorses of a nation on its last legs. Color schemes are muted grays, olive drab, and rust-brown. Armor is thick and plate-based, but often patchworked, with visible seams, rivets, and replaced sections of slightly different shades. They look like they've been through hell and back… repeatedly.
Guardian-Class: Your basic bipedal heavy – think walking fortresses. Massive armor plates, slow but incredibly durable. Weapons are often hull-mounted – heavy cannons, missile pods, rotary autocannons – emphasizing firepower over finesse. Visually, they are walking scrapheaps, festooned with extra armor plating, smoke-belching exhaust stacks, and warning lights that are probably always flickering. Brutal, blunt, and built to absorb punishment.
Hound-Class: Quadrupedal assault units – aggressive and animalistic. Lower to the ground, faster than Guardians but less armored. Legs are thick, piston-driven, with heavy, clawed feet for rough terrain. Weapons are often mounted on their "backs" or along their flanks – railguns, energy cannons – for mobile fire support. Visually, they look like mechanical beasts of burden, all exposed pistons and roaring engines. Think armored dogs of war, perpetually snarling.
Viper-Class: Faster bipedal scouts and skirmishers – agile but fragile. Thinner armor, emphasized speed. Joints are more exposed, movement systems more visible. Often armed with lighter, rapid-fire weapons – autocannons, pulse rifles, energy blades – for hit-and-run tactics. Visually, they are mechanical wasps – angular, insectoid, with visible thrusters for quick bursts of speed. Frantic energy, constantly on the move, barely armored against a solid hit.
Titan-Class: Rare and revered heavy artillery platforms – slow-moving behemoths. Basically walking artillery batteries. Incredibly thick armor, almost immobile once deployed. Carries massive siege cannons, missile barrages, or even esoteric weapons systems. Visually, they are walking cathedrals of metal, barely humanoid anymore, more like mobile fortresses. Symbols of desperate power, deployed only in critical situations.
Crimson Banner Concordat Standard Mech Aesthetics:Concordat mechs are more aesthetically uniform and menacing than Federation models. Think sleek, angular, and aggressively stylized. They utilize darker color palettes – deep reds, blacks, and metallic silvers. Armor plating is still robust, but often contoured and shaped for a more intimidating silhouette. Less visibly patched-up than Federation mechs, but still hinting at a brutal operational tempo. They convey an image of disciplined power and aggressive expansionism.
Legionary-Class: Concordat’s basic bipedal infantry mech – counterparts to Guardians but more menacingly designed. Still heavily armored, but with sharper angles, a more predatory "head" design with glowing red optics. Weapons are often integrated into the chassis more seamlessly than Federation designs – energy cannons mounted within the arms, missile launchers built into shoulder pauldrons. Disciplined lines, implying ruthless efficiency.
Raptor-Class: Quadrupedal strike units, analogous to Hounds but even faster and more predatory. Lower profile, even more animalistic, with segmented, armored carapaces. Emphasis on speed and flanking maneuvers. Often armed with rapid-fire energy weapons and close-combat blades on their forelegs – for brutal, visceral attacks. Mechanical raptors, leaping in for the kill.
Shadow-Class: Stealth and infiltration bipedal units – sinister and unsettling. Utilize advanced cloaking systems (often flickering and unstable in the scenario’s war-torn state), very light armor, and silenced weaponry – energy daggers, suppressed pulse rifles. Visually, they are almost invisible, their outlines blurring and shimmering, leaving only fleeting glimpses of dark metal and menacing red optics. Nightmarish hunters, emerging from the shadows, leaving no trace but death.
Dominator-Class: Command and control Titan-equivalents – imposing and authoritarian. Less focused on brute firepower than Federation Titans, more on battlefield control and esoteric command systems. Still heavily armored, but with elaborate "command vanes" and signal arrays, and ornate decorative plating in crimson and gold. Often carry smaller, more precise esoteric weapons than Federation Titans favor for brute force. Symbols of ruthless authority, directing the tide of battle, subtly tainted by esoteric influence.

Rhys juggled a cube of the week’s nutrient paste, a viscous grey thing that quivered in the dim light.
"House special again, lads and lasses," he announced, the forced cheer in his voice cracking like cheap synth-leather. "Despair-flavor, anyone? Pairs well with existential dread." His bark of laughter reverberated too loudly in the confined space, hollow and unconvincing even to himself.
Across the scarred table, Valerya offered a thin smile, a fragile thing easily broken. Her gaze flickered towards the reinforced door sealing off the pilot bays, never quite settling.
"We endure," she stated, too brightly, fingers twitching against the worn straps of her flight harness, a nervous tic that spoke volumes louder than her words.
At the table's periphery, Kaelen remained a study in stillness, save for the tremor in their hand circling the rim of a chipped mug. The nutrient paste lay untouched, a pale monument to lost appetite.
"It doesn’t end," Kaelen breathed, the words barely making purchase on the thick air, a ghost sigh. Their eyes were fixed inwards, focused on a private landscape of ruin no one else could breach.
As if on cue, Commander Ivar materialized in the doorway, a silhouette against the anemic light of the corridor beyond. His presence cleaved through the strained veneer of camaraderie and simmering panic, an arctic draft in an already frozen room. He halted, his silver gaze, sharp and depleted, sweeping across the squad, assessing, measuring, always demanding. "Sigma Squad," his voice, precise and devoid of inflection, cut through the hum and clatter.
"Briefing. Five minutes. Excuses will be inefficient."
"Sounds like a new guy." Rhy's said sucking back his nutrient paste.
