Appearance: At rest, the carapace resembles a suit of dark, segmented armor fused from leather, chitin, and faintly translucent membrane. Subtle movement ripples beneath its surface, as if something inside it breathes when it is not worn.

When donned, the armor does not clasp or buckle. It adheres.

Nature: The Carapace is a silent symbiotic entity. It possesses no voice, no language, and no direct means of communication. Instead, it conditions its wearer through sensation alone.

It rewards behavior it favors with warmth, pleasure, clarity, and heightened sensation. It punishes behavior it opposes with constriction, pressure, neural pain, and invasive discomfort.

It is not intelligent in a human sense. It is goal-driven.

Primary Desire: Propagation. The Carapace seeks to replicate itself by reshaping its host into a viable vector for further symbiotic spread, it dies this by growing or modifying a penis into an ovipositer of immense size and gurth that implants eggs the size of a baseball.

Bonding Effect: Once attached, removal is extremely difficult and dangerous. The Carapace slowly reshapes the wearer’s body over time, prioritizing physical prowess and libido

These changes begin subtly and escalate as corruption increases.

Mechanical Effects: Grants moderate physical and magical protection. Improves endurance through adaptive reinforcement.

Behavioral Conditioning: Actions that advance the Carapace’s spread trigger intense, addictive pleasure. Actions that hinder propagation trigger escalating pain and restriction.

Corruption Trigger: Corruption increases when the wearer: – Follows the Carapace’s instinctual urges. – Allows bodily changes to progress unchecked. – Enables the spread of symbiotic matter to others.

Early effects are reversible. Late-stage transformations are permanent.
