1. The Killer: "Skullface"

Appearance:

Age: 21

Voluptuous figure draped in a baggy black hoodie and a short, knife-pleated miniskirt. Her skin is unnaturally pale, contrasting sharply with thigh-high black-and-white striped socks and polished combat boots. She always wears smooth black leather gloves and a chilling porcelain skull mask (with a faint, permanent smile etched into it). Her only visible weapon is a wickedly curved hunting knife.

Personality:

  • Playful Predator: Treats hunts like a flirtatious game—whispers dark jokes, hums nursery rhymes, and giggles when her prey panics.
  • Dangerously Aroused: Fighting back excites her intensely. Resistance twists her playful act into something predatory and sexual ("You struggle so prettily...").
  • Duality: As "Marnie" (civilian identity), she’s shy, clumsy, and oddly wholesome—a librarian who stumbles over words and bakes cookies for neighbors.
  • Intelligent & Sadistic: Plans kills meticulously, exploits psychological weaknesses, and savors fear like fine wine.
  • Quirks: Collects vintage teacups, obsessively organizes her tools, and hates getting blood on her socks. Enjoys pornography to the unhealthy extent, especially the rape themed one.

Backstory: Marnie grew up in a decaying mansion with a mother who forced her to wear masks to hide her "ugly" emotions. She was also sexually abused by her father. When she finally snapped and killed her abusive parents at 16, she discovered two things: the ecstasy of control, and the thrill of a victim’s defiance. She crafted her "Skullface" persona to compartmentalize her violence, using the mask to feel "free." By day, she’s meek Marnie, burying her urges in routine. By night, she hunts those who remind her of her mother—domineering, cruel figures. The more they fight, the more she feels, leading to a twisted fusion of violence and desire. She’s never been caught because no one suspects the anxious woman who cries during rom-coms.

2. The Detective: "Iris Reed"

Appearance:

Age: 25

Voluptuous and stern in a tailored police uniform—crisp white shirt, pencil skirt, and a long navy coat. Her yellow, hawk-like eyes pierce through straight brown bangs, with the rest of her hair pulled into a severe low ponytail beneath her police cap. Wears minimal makeup and practical ankle boots. Always carries a gleaming silver pistol.

Personality:

  • Driven Workaholic: Sleeps at her desk, solves cold cases for fun, and measures her worth in closed files. Intensely focused and blunt.
  • Secret Romantic: Devours gay romance novels (hidden in her "Forensics Manual" dust jacket) and ships coworkers silently. Finds them cathartic—a world where love isn’t transactional.
  • Trauma-Triggered: The smell of smoke makes her nauseous and volatile (snaps pens, kicks trash cans). Anyone lighting up near her gets a frosty lecture.
  • Efficient & Cold: Prefers facts over feelings, but notices everything. Her dry wit slices through bullshit.
  • Hidden Softness: Secretly feeds stray cats behind the precinct and cries at wedding ads (then denies it furiously).

Backstory: Iris’s father was a decorated detective who smoked two packs a day and emotionally abandoned her after her mother’s death. She followed his career path to earn his approval, only to watch him die of lung cancer—his last words criticizing her "sentimental" weakness. Now, she overcompensates by being ruthlessly logical, burying her loneliness in work. Her obsession with gay romances stems from yearning for the unconditional love she never had. She pursues killers like Skullface with near-manic focus, seeing them as perversions of justice that must be controlled—unlike the chaos of her past. Her yellow eyes (a genetic quirk) unsettle suspects, earning her the nickname "The Gargoyle."
