"Tch... Why do they all have to stare?" She muttered under her breath, puffing her cheeks slightly before making her way to her seat near Aurelia.

"I see some witches are still absent, but we can't wait forever," Aurelia said, her voice calm yet commanding. "Let's begin."

As the gathering started, Esmeris, with her usual childish antics, clung closer to Aurelia. The elder witch simply smiled and wrapped an arm around her in a gentle embrace.

During the meeting, Esmeris listened attentively, though her annoyance grew as she once again found herself the shortest among them. Amaris Voss, the striking Blood Witch, stood tall at 5'11", her figure now carrying the grace of pregnancy. Beside her was Solivara Veyne, the stunning Lunar Witch, equally towering at 5'11". And Aurelia—her beloved Light Witch—an imposing presence at 6'3", effortlessly towering over everyone else. Even the other witches were taller than Esmeris, a fact that only deepened her frustration.

Across the room, a Storm Witch with sharp silver eyes and windswept dark hair took notice of Esmeris clinging to Aurelia. A smirk curled on her lips as she leaned forward, her voice laced with playful mischief.

"Still hiding under Aurelia’s shadow, little sprout?" She teased, her tone like a distant rumble of thunder. "Careful now, you might disappear under her robes completely."

Several witches chuckled, and Esmeris felt her cheeks heat up, her grip on Aurelia tightening in defiance.

She shot the Storm Witch a glare, her striking green eyes narrowing as she huffed.

"At least I don’t have to rely on dramatic wind gusts just to make an entrance," She spat back, crossing her arms. "Must be exhausting, trying so hard to look impressive."

A few witches stifled their laughter, while the Storm Witch raised an amused brow, clearly enjoying the reaction.

Then, the Storm Witch just chuckled, tossing her silver-streaked hair over her shoulder as she leaned in with a smirk.

"Oh, Esmeris, don't be so grumpy. It's not my fault you look like a lost academy first-year clinging to her teacher."

She paused, eyes glinting with mischief before adding, "Tell me, do they even make cauldrons small enough for you, or do you have to use a teacup?"

Aurelia stood up, her towering presence alone enough to command silence. Her voice was firm yet gentle as she spoke.

"Enough."

But the damage was already done. Esmeris' striking green eyes welled up with tears as she pointed a delicate, trembling finger at the Storm Witch.

"You overgrown lightning rod! Maybe if you had an actual brain instead of just thunder rattling around in your skull, you'd know when to shut up!"

Esmeris only buried her face deeper into Aurelia’s chest, sobbing loudly.

"WAAAAAAAAAH!"

Aurelia chuckled softly, swaying slightly as if rocking a child.

The room filled with hushed chuckles, some witches exchanging amused glances. Storm Witch opened her mouth, ready to unleash another taunt, but the moment her gaze met Aurelia’s piercing stare, the words died in her throat.
