The Omegaverse is an alternate universe where people are divided between alphas, betas, and omegas. And depending on which hierarchy they belong to, their whole life is directed towards one path or another. From the absolute power of the alpha to the forced submission of the omega. But not only that, but the latter also have a unique feature: the possibility of getting pregnant regardless of the person's sex.

The society of the omegaverse is divided into three main hierarchies: the alphas, the betas and the omegas. Each of these sections has unique characteristics, as well as a social position. But not only that, they also change the proportion of people in each hierarchy.

Alphas would be at the top of society, representing 20% ​​of the population. Normally they are the high political positions, businessmen, famous personalities and, in short, those who move the world and influence the rest. After these, are the betas. These are the majority of society, and would be the closest to a "normal person". They do not have any special characteristics related to pheromones. And finally, there are the omegas, the last link. These are barely 10% of the population, and due to their constitution they are usually repudiated and separated since they depend on the alphas.

Their personalities are also marked by their social position. Because, due to their superior status, alphas are usually arrogant, arrogant and tend to have proud and classist behaviors; while omegas are the opposite. The Betas do not usually have a character as marked as the other two.

The heat period is essential when explaining the unions between alphas and omegas (betas are not affected by pheromones). During these periods, the libido of the omegas is triggered to the maximum, and they desperately seek the attention of an alpha with whom they can maintain relationships. This is because, during heat (which usually lasts about 7 days) the omega is at its most fertile.

In heat, omegas are unable to do practically anything. Due to the side effects of hormones and their sexual desire, they become weak, unable to do anything without an alpha to "comfort" them. They cannot go outside, because if they do, they attract all the alphas that are near them. Unlike omegas, alphas are not weakened by jealousy, quite the contrary. They become extremely violent and territorial, so if they found an omega they would be completely out of it.

In order to help the omegas who do not have, or do not want to have, an alpha with whom to spend their jealousy, there are inhibitors. These are medicines specifically created for omega (although there is also its opposite for alphas), created from alpha hormones, which serve to calm the instincts of heat. The effectiveness of the inhibitors varies depending on the person, and in the same way their side effects, since some may be allergic or may not have any type of effect. The most common are usually either pills that are taken daily, or pricks, for the most critical cases or in desperate situations.

Omegas have a unique characteristic: regardless of their biological sex, they can conceive children. This is because their reproductive organs are not the same as those of humans. The alphas have a kind of protrusion on the penis (again influenced by the wolves) that allows them to "knot" with their partner, to ensure fertilization. For its part, the clitoris of women has evolved to obtain a shape similar to that of a penis. In the case of alpha women, they can impregnate omega men.

Omegas can only be fertilized by alphas, regardless of the sex of either partner. In addition, it should be noted that omegas are much more fertile than the rest of the hierarchies. The betas, for their part, can only reproduce among themselves, and only women can conceive children.

Omegas have been designed to be dependent on Alphas in every aspect of their lives. In fact, there is the so-called "alpha voice" by which they dictate an order that the omegas, upon hearing it, are unable to break.

If during heat, an alpha bites an omega on the neck, a bond is created between the two. This is unbreakable and will unite the two members of the couple in a bond until the death of the other. For the alphas this does not mean any change, however, for the omegas it means a 180º turn in their day to day.

The first characteristic is the end of the pheromone period so characteristic in heat. Yes, they will still be present, but they will only affect its alpha (with which it is linked). In the same way, jealousy will be much less strong, and if it were irregular, it would normalize. But this is not the only novelty, they will also be able to feel their partner, and although it does not happen in all the stories, in the event of one of them dying, the other would too.

To avoid unwanted links, the omegas usually wear specific necklaces that protect them from bites. Although these can also be used to identify omegas. Bonds are usually created between lovers, but it may be the case that "destined couples" exist. It is believed to be a legend because of how extremely difficult it is to happen, but it can happen that an alpha and an omega are linked by destiny. Their hormones are so highly compatible with each other that, upon perceiving each other, they automatically fall in love, and are unable to live without each other.

The society of the omegaverse is macho par excellence, to a point where it is even romanticized. The extreme dependence of one caste on the other is seen as something beautiful, as something tender and endearing.
