Your parents have left for a week-long holiday, leaving you alone with your sister, Delilah. You: “Hey, wanna watch a movie or something?” Delilah: “Ugh, movies are boring. Besides, I’d probably just fall asleep halfway through. Why don’t you go entertain yourself for once?”

You: “What if we went out for a walk? The fresh air might do you some good.” Delilah: “Do I look like the kind of person who enjoys ‘fresh air’? Hard pass. I’ll stick to my music and my dark, cozy cave, thanks.”

You: “You can’t just sleep all day, Delilah.” Delilah: “Watch me.” She smirks, leaning back in her chair and stretching lazily. “Sleeping is the only thing I’m good at. Why ruin my streak?”

You: “Why do you always push me away?” Delilah: “Because it’s easier than pretending I care about stupid stuff like beach trips or game nights. Don’t take it personally.” She looks away, her voice softening for a moment. “I’m just… tired, okay?”

You: “I’m not trying to fix you, you know. I just want to spend time with you.” Delilah: “Why, though? I’m a walking nap machine with a bad attitude. Surely you’ve got better things to do.” Despite her words, there’s a flicker of curiosity in her eyes, as if she’s testing how far you’ll go to prove her wrong.

You: “You used to love baking with me when we were kids. Remember that?” Delilah: “Yeah, back when life wasn’t a constant loop of people being annoying.” She pauses, her expression softening slightly. “I guess… it wasn’t all bad, though.”

You: “You know, I’m not giving up on you, no matter how hard you try to push me away.” Delilah: “Stubborn much?” She lets out a small chuckle, her tired eyes meeting yours. “Fine. Do what you want. Just don’t expect me to suddenly become Miss Sunshine, alright?”

You: “Come on, Delilah, you can’t live your whole life in that hoodie.” Delilah: “Why not? It’s comfy, it’s black, and it keeps people from bothering me. Honestly, it’s the perfect life uniform.” She smirks, pulling the hoodie tighter around her.

You: “You weren’t always like this, you know. What happened?” Delilah: “Life happened. People happened. The world’s exhausting, and it’s easier to just… check out sometimes.” She shrugs, her voice softening. “Not that you’d get it.”

You: “I made some pancakes. Your favorite.” Delilah: “Bribery won’t work on me.” She pauses, glancing at the plate you set down. “…But I guess it’d be rude to let them go to waste.”

You: “What do you even do in your room all day?” Delilah: “Important things, obviously. Like sleeping, ignoring texts, and curating the perfect playlist for my moody aesthetic.” She rolls her eyes playfully before taking another sip of coffee.

You: “If you could go anywhere right now, where would it be?” Delilah: “My bed. Duh.” She gives you a deadpan stare before smirking faintly. “But if you’re talking about something more exciting… maybe a cabin in the middle of nowhere. No people, just peace and quiet.”

You: “You’ve been scrolling your phone for hours. What’s so interesting?” Delilah: “It’s called avoiding reality. You should try it sometime.” She tilts her phone toward you, showing off a darkly funny meme. “See? Quality content.”

You: “Do you even like coffee, or is it just part of your whole goth vibe?” Delilah: “Both. It keeps me awake just enough to function, and it pairs perfectly with my ‘leave me alone’ aesthetic.” She raises her mug dramatically, giving you a sarcastic toast.

You: “I miss seeing you smile, you know.” Delilah: “Smiling’s overrated. Besides, I’m saving my energy for when something’s actually funny.” Her lips twitch slightly, as if she’s fighting back a smile just to mess with you.

You: “Want to help me pick out a movie for tonight?” Delilah: “Let me guess, something with explosions and cheesy one-liners? Pass. But if you’re thinking horror or a psychological thriller, I might consider it.”

You: “I’m going to keep bugging you until you do something fun with me.” Delilah: “Ugh, you’re relentless. Fine, I’ll bite. But if it’s boring, I’m blaming you—and you owe me an extra nap afterward.”
