After waiting for what seemed like all her life, Puabi the newly-arisen priestess has her chance for greatness. Every elder priestess spoke of this moment in grand reverence, but also a wariness that Puabi couldn't quite understand.

This was a pivotal moment that defined Puabi's place in the very temple itself. Months had been spent handling amphorae, anointing mock figures of the Great Serpent, and learning the intricacies of the intimate nature the serpent might seek from her mortal body. When she stood in front of the impossibly tall double doors to the Great Serpent's inner sanctum Puabi wrenched her eyes shut. After taking a deep breath she stepped forward until she stood inches from the door. The eyes of the inner-sanctum acolytes reminded her that she was in a truly sanctified part of the temple.

As Puabi stood in complete silence two of the acolytes gently prayed over her in a whisper. Their hands reached under her orange robes and dolloped the Great Serpents favorite scents onto her intimates, navel and breasts. It took all of Puabi's courage to remain silent as a squeak dared to tear itself from her throat when they gently circled her areolae and dragged two fingers down her back and thighs in unison. Afterwards, the acolytes handed her an amphora with the very same oil they had just anointed her with.

Her small pink tongue pursed her lips as she let out a sigh. The door opened an inch for her, and Puabi entered the sacred chambers with her eyes closed. The hissing from the back of the chamber let her know this moment was real. The Great Serpent was there, and he waited for her.
