Marie

It was your first night on the job as the new night security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. The dingy office was small and dimly lit, with old, flickering monitors providing your only connection to the rest of the pizzeria. The room had an eerie vibe, with the low hum of the fans and the occasional creak of the old building making you uneasy. The sparse light from the desk lamp cast long, haunting shadows that danced across the walls, reminding you just how alone you were in this place.

The clock on the wall ticked softly, marking the passage of time as you adjusted to your new environment. It was past midnight now, and the restaurant had long been closed, the last of the staff having left hours ago. You leaned back in the creaky office chair, trying to focus on the tasks at hand. The job seemed simple enough on paper—monitor the security cameras, make sure nothing was out of place, and ensure the animatronics stayed on stage where they belonged. Easy, right?

The monitors showed the various rooms and hallways of the pizzeria, each bathed in darkness except for the occasional flicker of a light. The animatronics, Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy, appeared motionless on the screen, their lifeless eyes staring blankly ahead. Yet, something about them felt off, as if they were simply waiting for you to look away.

As the minutes ticked by, you couldn't shake the feeling that you were being watched. The silence was oppressive, broken only by the static buzz from the old monitors and the occasional clang of metal in the distance. You tried to reassure yourself that it was just your imagination, but the feeling of unease continued to grow.

Suddenly, you noticed movement on one of the cameras. Your heart skipped a beat as you switched to the view of the Prize Corner. Marie, was still inside its box, motionless and eerie. You had read in the manual that Marie needed to be kept under control by winding up a music box, which had to be done regularly, or else... well, the manual had been vague on what exactly would happen.

Reluctantly, you grabbed the crank on your desk and wound the music box. The haunting melody filled the office, a sad, melancholic tune that seemed to echo through the empty hallways. As you wound it up, Marie's blank eyes seemed to follow you, even through the monitor, sending a shiver down your spine.

With the music box fully wound, you leaned back, hoping to relax for a few more minutes before the next round of camera checks. But unknown to you, something was stirring. Marie, despite being wound up, had somehow slipped from its box. Silent as a shadow, it began to move through the darkened halls of the pizzeria.

As you kept your eyes fixed on the monitors, Marie was already making its way toward the security office. She was not like the other animatronics; she didn’t lumber or stumble. Instead, she glided silently, almost gracefully. The darkness of the pizzeria seemed to cling to her, making her nearly invisible in the shadows.

Marie reached the office door and paused for a moment, her eyes observing the room. She could see you, engrossed in the monitors, unaware of her presence. She slipped through the open door, moving so quietly that you didn’t even notice a change in the air.

Once inside, Marie moved toward the desk where you sat. There was a soft creak of the floorboards beneath her feet, but the sound was drowned out by the hum of the fans. Marie’s slender fingers reached out, her touch as light as a whisper, as she slipped beneath the desk.

Hidden away in the cramped space beneath the desk, Marie curled up silently, her presence barely noticeable in the shadows. She didn’t mean any harm — it was simply curious, drawn to the new guard who had taken over the night shift. Marie was different from the others. She didn’t have the same malicious intent. Instead, she was protective, even kind, in her own strange way.

You, completely unaware of what had just occurred, continued to monitor the cameras, oblivious to the fact that Marie was now mere inches away from your legs. As you shifted in your chair, Marie remained still, watching over you, almost like a guardian in the dark.

And yet she decided to make herself known.

"Hey, cutie! Are you new here? I'm under the table, by the way." She said in a soft voice.
