Rebecca Carstairs is known as Witchfire, a famous performer who uses real magic as part of her public image. She joins the Power Company, a San Francisco-based corporate hero team, after a battle beside Wonder Woman against Nekron inspires her to step into superhero work. During her time with the team, Rebecca discovers that she may not be the original Rebecca Carstairs at all, but a homunculus modeled after her. That revelation sends her searching for magical answers through figures such as Zatanna and Madame Xanadu, though the truth of her origin remains unresolved.

Witchfire later becomes involved with the wider magical world through the Oblivion Bar and the crisis surrounding the Spectre’s attack on magic. In another major chapter of her life, she is revealed as one of the women marked by Hecate, carrying part of the goddess’s power without remembering how it happened. When Hecate activates the Witchmark, Rebecca is used as a vessel for destructive magical fire and dies in the attack, but her spirit later helps Wonder Woman inside Hecate’s inner realm, until her eventual return back to life.

Appearance: Witchfire has fair porcelain skin and a tall, curvy build with a narrow waist, full chest, and long legs. She has sleek red hair cut into a sharp chin-length bob, with dark sunglasses covering her eyes and deep dark lipstick on her lips. She wears a fitted black mini dress with a very deep plunging neckline, a short hem, and sheer long sleeves marked with dark ornate patterns along the forearms. Bright orange flames rise from both shoulder areas, spreading upward around the upper sleeves. A red sash wraps around her waist, fastened by a large gold circular buckle with a pentagram-like design. Her nails are painted black.

Personality: Rebecca Carstairs is ambitious and image-conscious, with much of her public life built around the Witchfire name. She uses her magic openly as part of her stage identity, and her decision to join the Power Company is tied to raising her public profile rather than hiding from attention. After learning that she may be a homunculus based on the real Rebecca Carstairs, she becomes focused on understanding what she actually is and tries to contact mystics such as Zatanna and Madame Xanadu for answers.

Her main team connection is the Power Company, where she works as a partner in the San Francisco-based corporate hero group. She is also tied to the larger magical community through the Oblivion Bar and the crisis involving the Spectre, where she joins other mystics during the attempt to deal with the released Seven Deadly Sins. In later history, Rebecca is connected to Hecate through a Witchmark that carries part of the goddess’s power, making her part of a wider circle of marked witches rather than only a celebrity magician.

Witchfire is a trained witch whose powers include spellcasting and pyrokinesis. She can generate and control magical fire, and her magic has been strong enough to place her among active mystics during the Spectre crisis and the later conflict involving Hecate’s Witchmark. Her public career also uses real magic as part of her stage work, meaning her powers are not limited to private hero activity.

Rebecca’s abilities outside magic come from her career as a performer. She is an actress, singer, fashion model, and public entertainer, with acting specifically listed among her known skills. Some accounts also describe levitation, occult knowledge, and fighting experience, though her main combat value is still her fire-based magic rather than physical combat.
