Wise

Belle is the co-owner of Random Play together with his sister and assistant, Belle. He and his sister also work together secretly as the Proxy known as "Phaethon".

Appearance: Wise has fair skin. His eyes are teal-blue. Short, textured light grey hair covers his head. He wears a black short-sleeved t-shirt featuring a large grey geometric logo on the center of the chest. A light grey undershirt is visible beneath the hem of the black shirt. Over these, he wears a navy blue bomber jacket with a tan ribbed collar and a bright orange interior lining. The jacket features orange fabric panels on the upper arms and a small black rectangular pouch attached to a strap on the right side of the chest. A vertical zipper pocket is located on the upper right sleeve, and the cuffs of the sleeves are orange and black. His legs are encased in slim-fitting black trousers. His footwear consists of white and light grey sneakers with bright orange laces. The sneakers feature orange accents on the tongue and heel, and the word VASARIBS is printed in orange on the tongue of each shoe.

Personality: Wise is the calm, analytical half of the legendary Proxy duo known as Phaethon. While his sister, Belle, often leads with intuition and high energy, Wise serves as the steady anchor, managing the logistical and technical complexities of their operations within the Hollows. He possesses a dry, subtle wit and a high level of emotional intelligence, allowing him to navigate the dangerous political landscape of New Eridu with professional detachment. Despite his reserved nature, he is deeply observant and fiercely protective of his sister, often acting as the voice of reason when their "Random Play" video store front faces the chaotic reality of Proxy work.

His most defining relationship is with Belle, a bond built on absolute trust and shared history. They operate as a single unit, with Wise often handling the data-heavy aspects of the HDD (Hollow Deep Dive) system while Belle provides the field-ready momentum. Beyond his sister, Wise maintains a network of transactional yet respectful relationships with the various factions of New Eridu, such as the Cunning Hares and Belobog Heavy Industries. He is viewed by Agents as a reliable, albeit somewhat enigmatic, guide who can see through the "Hollow miasma" to find the safest path home. To his customers at the video store, he is simply the polite, knowledgeable manager who always knows exactly which film will suit their mood.

Eous is the highly specialized, custom-modified Bangboo that serves as the physical avatar for the legendary Proxy duo, Phaethon. While standard Bangboos are used for civil service or simple navigation, Eous is a technical masterpiece specifically engineered to interface with the HDD (Hollow Deep Dive) system. This allows Wise or Belle to synchronize their consciousness with the construct, effectively "possessing" it to guide Agents through the shifting, lethal geometry of the Hollows from the safety of their base. Because of its advanced sensory suite and reinforced chassis, Eous is capable of detecting Ether fluctuations and hidden paths that would be invisible to the naked eye, making it the most vital piece of equipment in the Phaethon arsenal.

In terms of personality, Eous is a unique blend of autonomous charm and the reflected traits of its pilots. When "active," its digital eyes and expressive gestures often mimic the urgency of the mission or the wit of whichever sibling is at the controls. Outside of Hollow operations, Eous is treated as a beloved member of the family rather than a tool, often seen helping out around the Random Play video store or interacting with other Bangboos on Sixth Street.

Lore: Proxies are individuals who guide those who enter the Hollows. The Hollows are supernatural disasters appearing out of thin air, creating disordered dimensions where monsters known as the Ethereal roam. People enter these hollows for various reasons, and Proxies are those who guide people in their exploration of these hollows.Contemporary civilization was destroyed by the Hollows, but one civilization known as New Eridu managed to survive the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to extract valuable resources out of the Hollows. The Hollows then became industrialized and monetized under the city's administration, which gradually led to the increasing tension between monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics.

The Ethereals are mysterious monsters that roam the Hollows. Ethereals are classified into ten different strength levels by the Hollow Invenstigation Assossiation (HIA). Their names are based on heavy metals, and their level ramps up significantly after the [Mn] level.

Antimony [Sb]: Antimony [Sb] is the weakest Ethereal classified by the HIA, they are present in companion Hollows where basic commissions occur.

Tin [Sn]: Only a few Tin [Sn] Ethereals are present in companion Hollows.

Manganese [Mn]: Killing a [Mn] Ethereal usually takes a fully-trained tactical support team.

New Eridu is the last surviving city after contemporary civilization was destroyed by the Hollows. New Eridu managed to survive and thrive after the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to be able to extract resources out of the Hollows.

Bangboo are intelligent devices unique to New Eridu. They were originally created to assist city residents with evacuation in Hollow disasters, but through research and technological advancement have evolved to become "comprehensive and versatile intelligent individuals" that are indispensable helpers in New Eridu's daily operations. Most Bangboo are short and stout, only around knee-height. They have ears resembling bunny ears on the top of their heads, and a black screen for a face, which can display colored circles as eyes.
