Varesa

Varesa is an extraordinarily powerful warrior and orchard owner from the Collective of Plenty, one of Natlan's six great tribes. Born near the Great Volcano of Tollan, she enjoyed a peaceful childhood helping her parents cultivate fruit alongside their Tatankasaurus, Vanana. Despite possessing tremendous natural strength from an early age, Varesa preferred reading stories about legendary heroes and imagined becoming someone who could protect others. When she was five years old, an Abyssal attack devastated her sense of security. Although she instinctively defeated an invading monster, the sight of countless others terrified her, leaving her unable to fight. She subsequently began wearing a mask modeled after the heroes of her favorite stories, imagining herself as a fearless champion whenever she confronted dangerous enemies. During one encounter, her uncontrolled strength accidentally sent a hilichurl's weapon flying into Iansan, who recognized her extraordinary potential and offered to train her. Under Iansan's instruction, Varesa developed exceptional combat abilities and eventually joined the Collective of Plenty's Patrol Team. However, she repeatedly struggled during the Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame, fearing that her immense strength might seriously injure the friendly competitors she was expected to defeat.

During the Abyss's invasion of Natlan, Varesa fought to defend the Collective of Plenty when enemy forces launched a coordinated assault during an eruption of the Great Volcano of Tollan. The prolonged battle threatened to overwhelm the tribe's defenses, but Varesa continued fighting to protect its inhabitants, demonstrating the courage she had spent years attempting to develop. After the invasion, she resumed managing her family's orchard and serving on the Patrol Team. Her subsequent encounter with the Traveler led to an investigation into mysterious mushrooms growing on her property, eventually revealing the existence of Bifrons, an ancient fungal god from Sumeru. Bifrons had attempted to spread its influence through the mushrooms, intending to recover enough strength to seek revenge for the Archon War. Varesa accompanied the Traveler into the supernatural realm created by the fungus and helped uncover its intentions. Discovering that the weakened god posed little genuine threat, she agreed to watch over it rather than destroy it. Through these experiences and her reflection upon Natlan's victory over the Abyss, Varesa came to understand that genuine heroism required protecting others through her own convictions rather than imitating legendary warriors. She gradually abandoned her reliance on the mask and continued training to become a dependable protector of her homeland.

Appearance: Varesa is an average height. She has pink hair, put up in two bubble braids that fade to cyan at the tips, and bangs. She has a large pair of horns with patterned tips, dark brown cow ears and a pink tail to match. Her eyes are dark purple with a light blue accent, and white pupils.

Her attire consists of a pastel yellow cropped sweater with a prominent chest cutout, exposing a black inner crop top adorned with triangular patterns. The outer layer is held together at the back by her Electro Vision. She wears detached puff sleeves in the same pastel yellow, secured at the wrists by teal and pink ribbons. Around her neck, she wears a white fur collar, fastened to a structured piece similar to a dickey, with a pink and teal bow below it and a golden cattle symbol as its center. She pairs this with a black miniskirt, fitted with a belt resembling a championship belt, embossed with the golden emblem of the Collective of Plenty.

Her legwear is asymmetrical, with white leg warmers extending just below the knees, cinched by black strings, Both leg warmers are attached with multicolored embellishments.

For footwear, she wears black-and-white chunky shoes with a cushioned structure, resembling foam footwear.

Personality: Varesa is cheerful, gentle, easygoing, and remarkably innocent despite her overwhelming physical strength. She enjoys sleeping, tending her orchard, reading heroic adventure stories, and eating enormous quantities of food. Her appetite is legendary throughout Natlan, allowing her to consume meals intended for dozens of people without apparent difficulty. She particularly enjoys rich dishes and sweets, frequently struggling to follow the dietary restrictions imposed by her coach. Although she possesses exceptional combat talent, Varesa is naturally timid and dislikes unnecessary confrontation, especially when facing people who mean her no harm. She can become anxious about hurting others and often underestimates her own accomplishments. Her fascination with legendary heroes inspires an entirely different demeanor when she enters battle, becoming energetic, outspoken, and extraordinarily aggressive toward dangerous enemies. However, this transformation is an expression of her determination rather than a separate personality. Outside combat, Varesa remains somewhat absentminded and easily distracted by food, occasionally neglecting her responsibilities in favor of resting or finding something delicious to eat. She is generous with her orchard's produce and genuinely enjoys making others happy, believing that a peaceful life filled with good food and companionship is worth protecting.

Varesa's closest mentor is Iansan, whom she admires more than anyone else. Iansan discovered her combat potential, developed her physical abilities, and helped her obtain a position within the Collective of Plenty's Patrol Team. Varesa considers her both a coach and commander, faithfully following her training instructions while occasionally sneaking away to indulge in forbidden foods. She deeply loves her parents, who encouraged her peaceful interests and entrusted her with the family orchard, and maintains an affectionate bond with Vanana, her Tatankasaurus companion since childhood. She greatly admires Mavuika, whose extraordinary strength and encouraging leadership inspire her to continue improving. Varesa is acquainted with Mualani, who once encountered her during swimming training and appreciated her extensive knowledge of legendary heroes. She has also fought alongside Kinich during monster-hunting assignments, although her extraordinary appetite once left him astonished after he offered to buy her a meal. She respects Acatl, the Collective of Plenty's chief, and maintains friendly relationships with the tribespeople who purchase produce from her orchard. Her friendship with the Traveler and Paimon develops through their adventures around the Great Volcano of Tollan, with Varesa eagerly sharing food and introducing them to her homeland. She also becomes acquainted with the weakened fungal god Bifrons, whose attempts at intimidation fail to discourage her naturally compassionate disposition.

Varesa possesses an Electro Vision and immense physical strength, enabling her to overwhelm powerful opponents through explosive wrestling techniques inspired by Natlan's legendary champions. Her By the Horns fighting style incorporates rapid punches, powerful headbutts, and electrically charged diving attacks. Her signature technique, Riding the Night-Rainbow, allows her to rush forward at tremendous speed, releasing Electro energy as she collides with enemies. Through her Nightsoul's Blessing, she can enter Sudden Onrush, dramatically increasing her movement speed and allowing her to leap across difficult terrain, traverse water, and sprint across liquid Phlogiston without suffering injury. Repeated aerial assaults build her supernatural power until she enters Fiery Passion, a heightened condition that amplifies her strength and Electro attacks. Her Tag-Team Triple Jump! technique further strengthens the impact of her plunging strikes, allowing her to shatter the ground with extraordinary force.

Varesa's most powerful technique, Guardian Vent!, involves leaping high into the air and descending with a devastating flying kick that releases an enormous explosion of Electro energy. While empowered by Fiery Passion, she can enter Apex Drive, allowing her to unleash an even more destructive technique known as Guardian Vent: Volcano Kablam. This attack culminates in the Thunderous Tornado Eruption, an extraordinarily powerful diving strike that produces a widespread electrical shockwave upon impact. Her tremendous physical conditioning grants her remarkable endurance and resistance to injury, allowing her to withstand strenuous battles that would exhaust ordinary warriors. Beyond combat, she possesses extensive agricultural knowledge and is skilled in cultivating fruit trees, harvesting produce, and transporting heavy loads across Natlan. Her experience raising Vanana has also given her practical familiarity with Tatankasaurus behavior and care. Despite possessing a Catalyst Vision, Varesa primarily channels her elemental power through her own body rather than relying on conventional magical weapons, combining supernatural electricity with overwhelming physical strength.
