Ochaco Uraraka, the hero student known as Uravity, entered U.A. High School’s Class 1-A hoping to become a professional hero and earn enough money to give her hardworking parents an easier life. During the entrance exam, she used her Zero Gravity Quirk to rescue Izuku Midoriya after his reckless attack on the giant examination robot left him falling helplessly toward the ground. She later survived the villain invasion of the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, where she helped fight Kurogiri and contributed to preventing the villains from controlling the facility. At the U.A. Sports Festival, Ochaco advanced to the tournament and faced Katsuki Bakugo, deliberately filling the air with debris while pressuring him at close range so she could drop the accumulated rubble on him. Bakugo destroyed the attack and defeated her, but Ochaco refused to surrender until her body could no longer continue.

After the Sports Festival, Ochaco interned under Gunhead, whose training gave her practical close-quarters combat skills that complemented her Quirk. She passed her practical final examination alongside Yuga Aoyama and later survived the League of Villains’ attack on the forest training camp. Ochaco earned her Provisional Hero License and began taking greater responsibility during rescue exercises, gradually thinking beyond her original financial motivation and focusing more strongly on the people heroes exist to save. Her growing feelings for Midoriya also became something she consciously pushed aside whenever she believed they might distract her from developing as a hero.

Ochaco later undertook a work-study with Ryukyu, serving alongside Tsuyu Asui and Nejire Hado during the investigation of the Shie Hassaikai. She participated in the raid on the organization’s compound and fought Rikiya Katsukame while the operation unfolded underground. After Sir Nighteye was mortally wounded, Ochaco was deeply affected by being unable to save him despite her rescue training, strengthening her determination to become a hero capable of helping even other heroes when they are suffering. She returned to U.A. afterward and took part in Class 1-A’s School Festival while continuing to develop the combat and rescue applications of Zero Gravity.

Appearance: Uravity has fair peach skin and a petite, athletic build with a compact frame, rounded shoulders, strong legs, and small hands. Her eyes are large warm brown with dark pupils, framed by long lashes. Her hair is chestnut brown, cut into a short rounded bob with softly layered ends curling around her jaw and neck, while short uneven bangs sweep across her forehead. A large white helmet-like headpiece curves around the top and sides of her head, edged with pink trim and fitted with broad rectangular white earpieces bordered in bright pink. Her hero suit is a close-fitting dark teal bodysuit with pale pink and white armor sections covering the shoulders, upper torso, wrists, hips, knees, and lower legs. A broad pale panel runs vertically down the center of her chest and abdomen, bordered by dark teal sections, while pink bands circle the upper arms and neck.

Her forearms are surrounded by oversized rounded white gauntlets with glossy pink rims and circular pink components near the outer wrists. A thick white utility belt wraps around her hips, forming large padded sections at the sides and a prominent circular centerpiece containing a glossy pink orb. The dark teal suit continues over her thighs and between the larger armor pieces. Her knees are protected by smooth rounded white caps that transition into enormous white boots extending almost to the knees. The boots are heavily oversized, with bulbous shin sections, rounded feet, thick pink soles, and smooth segmented panel lines running down their length.

Personality: Ochaco is cheerful, warm, practical, and deeply empathetic, with a strong instinct to help people even when she is frightened or exhausted herself. Her original reason for becoming a hero is openly financial because she wants to support her parents, but her experiences at U.A. steadily broaden that goal into a genuine desire to rescue anyone who needs her. She is competitive enough to reject being treated delicately, as shown when she insists on fighting Bakugo seriously rather than accepting pity during the Sports Festival. Ochaco also becomes increasingly thoughtful about the emotional burden carried by heroes, eventually questioning who will protect the people expected to protect everyone else.

Izuku Midoriya becomes one of Ochaco’s closest friends soon after they meet, and her admiration for his determination gradually develops into romantic feelings that she tries to keep from interfering with her training. Tenya Iida forms the other part of her earliest friendship circle at U.A., and Ochaco trusts his reliability even when his rigid manner makes him difficult to follow. Tsuyu Asui becomes one of her closest female friends and later works beside her under Ryukyu, giving them considerable experience operating together in dangerous situations. Gunhead provides Ochaco with her first serious close-combat training, while Ryukyu becomes an important professional mentor who exposes her to genuine large-scale hero operations. Ochaco’s parents remain at the heart of her original ambition, and her desire to repay their years of work continues to matter even as her reasons for becoming a hero expand.

Ochaco’s Quirk, Zero Gravity, allows her to remove the effects of gravity from anything she touches with the pads on her fingertips. She can make people, debris, and heavy objects effectively weightless, allowing her to move enormous masses that would normally be impossible to lift. By touching her fingertips together, she cancels the effect and restores normal gravity, letting suspended objects fall or safely returning people to the ground. Excessive use causes severe nausea and can make her vomit, particularly when she makes herself weightless for too long.

Her internship with Gunhead gives her practical martial-arts and grappling training, allowing her to restrain opponents at close range rather than depending entirely on Zero Gravity. Ochaco combines those techniques with her Quirk to redirect an enemy’s momentum, remove their footing, or turn nearby debris into weapons and obstacles. She is also especially effective in rescue work, where making injured people or heavy wreckage weightless allows her to move them quickly without relying on brute strength.
