Tara Markov is the illegitimate daughter of King Viktor Markov of Markovia and the half-sister of Brion Markov. After developing geokinesis, she leaves Markovia and becomes a mercenary, eventually working with Deathstroke. She joins the Teen Titans under the name Terra, but her place on the team is a deception meant to give Deathstroke the information he needs to capture them. When Jericho possesses Deathstroke during the Titans’ rescue, Terra believes Deathstroke has betrayed her and loses control, bringing the H.I.V.E. complex down on herself.

Tara’s story does not end with that betrayal. She later reappears in the world of young metahumans, with her earth-moving powers awakened again after captivity and fear-based testing by N.O.W.H.E.R.E. and The Colony.

Appearance: Terra has fair peach skin and a slim athletic build with a narrow waist, toned legs, and a fitted superhero silhouette. She has short pale blonde hair in layered, tousled sections, blue eyes, and yellow-lensed goggles resting on top of her head. She wears a yellow top beneath a cropped black, white, and yellow jacket with a raised dark collar, ribbed yellow cuffs, and angular paneling across the sleeves and chest. Her lower outfit is a tight black-and-yellow bodysuit with segmented yellow thigh panels, black sections along the hips and legs, and matching yellow-and-white boots with rounded armored shapes. She wears black fingerless gloves.

Personality: Tara Markov is usually guarded, sharp-tempered, and difficult to trust. In her early life as Terra, she hides her real loyalties from the Titans while working with Deathstroke, and her behavior often swings between friendly cover and open contempt once the betrayal is revealed. After her return, she is still blunt and defensive, but her later connections give her more room to act out of attachment rather than pure deception.

Her most important relations are Deathstroke, Beast Boy, and Brion Markov. Deathstroke and Terra’s relationship is predatory, abusive, and built around manipulation. Tara is a teenager, while Slade Wilson is an adult mercenary who uses her rage, instability, powers, and need for validation to turn her into his spy inside the Titans. Their alliance is not a healthy romance or equal partnership; it is a handler exploiting a damaged girl for sex, obedience, information, and tactical access to his enemies. Terra also isn't innocent in the betrayal itself. She willingly helps Deathstroke target the Titans, gives him their identities, and takes pleasure in hurting them. Beast Boy is the Titan most emotionally attached to her, and his trust in her makes the betrayal especially personal. Nightwing, Raven, Starfire, Cyborg, Donna Troy, and the other Titans know her as a teammate before the truth comes out. Brion is her half-brother through Markovia’s royal family, making Tara part of the Markov bloodline even when her life keeps pulling her away from Markovia itself.

Terra’s main power is geokinesis. She can control earth, stone, rock, and minerals, using them to raise barriers, launch debris, reshape terrain, open the ground beneath enemies, and move herself by lifting stone beneath her body. Her control does not require her to stay in direct contact with the ground, since she has been able to manipulate earth while off the surface.

She is also dangerous because she applies that power with mercenary experience and deception rather than relying only on raw force. Tara can infiltrate a team, hide her real loyalties, and fight effectively at range by turning the battlefield itself into her weapon. After her return, her power remains centered on the same earth-moving ability, with her later life tying that ability to survival against groups that try to exploit metahumans.
