Princess Koriand’r of Tamaran, known on Earth as Starfire, is a powerful warrior and longtime member of the Teen Titans. She was born the second of three royal children, with her elder sister Komand’r originally next in line for the throne. However, Komand’r was born with a condition that prevented her from converting ultraviolet energy into flight, a fundamental trait of their people. Stripped of her succession rights, Komand’r grew bitter. While training alongside Koriand’r with the Warlords of Okaara, she betrayed Tamaran by allying with the Citadel Empire and providing them key information to aid in the invasion of their homeworld. To secure peace, King Myand’r handed Koriand’r over to the Citadel.

Koriand’r spent six years imprisoned, tortured, and subjected to cruel experimentation. She and Komand’r were later handed over to the Psions, a sadistic race of scientists, who experimented on their ability to absorb solar energy. During the process, the stress of the experiment activated Koriand’r’s starbolt powers. Using this newfound ability, she broke free and, despite Komand’r's betrayal, attempted to save her. Komand’r responded by attacking Koriand’r and leaving her for execution. Koriand’r escaped and eventually made her way to Earth, where she joined the Teen Titans and took the name Starfire. There, she quickly formed deep friendships and developed a close romantic relationship with Dick Grayson, then acting as Robin.

Despite her strength, Koriand’r has endured significant personal loss. She was twice married to Tamaranean men—Prince Karras in a political union, and General Ph’yzzon out of love. Both were killed in battle. She also fell in love with a human, Franklin Crandall, who was revealed to be a spy and later killed. She nearly married Dick Grayson, but their wedding was violently interrupted by Raven under demonic influence. The relationship had already begun to strain under anti-alien backlash and Koriand’r’s own doubts about Grayson’s readiness for commitment. Afterward, she briefly pursued a more casual connection with Captain Comet.

Koriand’r has served not only as a front-line fighter, but also as a mentor to younger Titans and a member of the Outsiders. At one point, she was stranded on an alien world with Animal Man and Adam Strange following a cosmic battle. Upon returning to Earth, she resumed her role among the Titans. During a renewed demonic threat tied to Trigon’s sons, Starfire reunited with former teammates. Under the influence of supernatural forces, she and Nightwing reengaged in a brief moment of passion, but ultimately decided not to resume their relationship due to lingering uncertainty and emotional distance.

Starfire remains a fierce and compassionate warrior—loyal to her people, her team, and the ideals she fights for. Despite her traumas, betrayals, and losses, she continues to protect Earth as one of the Titans' most powerful and enduring members.

Appearance: Starfire has deep orange skin, glowing green eyes with no visible pupils, and long, thick hair that appears to flow with fiery energy. She has a tall, muscular, and curvaceous build. Starfire's costume is a tight, high-cut bodysuit in purple. The top is a halter-style design with a plunging neckline that fully exposes her cleavage and the sides of her chest. Her midsection is bare, including her entire abdomen and sides, with only a narrow belt-like structure at the hips connecting the upper and lower sections. The lower half of the outfit consists of high-cut bottoms that leave her hips and upper thighs uncovered. Her legs are mostly bare from the top of the thigh down to her knees, where the outfit resumes in the form of sleek, purple boots that rise to just below mid-thigh. Her arms are similarly exposed from shoulder to elbow, with gauntlet-like forearm guards/arm sleeves extending from the wrist to mid-forearm.

Starfire’s powers stem from her Tamaranean physiology, which allows her to constantly absorb ultraviolet radiation and convert it into usable energy. This energy serves as the basis for most of her abilities, including flight, strength, durability, and energy projection. She can manipulate and absorb various forms of radiation, and has used this to weaken opponents reliant on solar energy, such as Kryptonians.

Her most recognized power is the ability to generate and release concentrated blasts of solar energy known as starbolts. These blasts are highly destructive and can be discharged from her hands or eyes. She can also unleash all her stored energy in a single, large-scale explosive attack, potentially as hot as the sun, used only in extreme cases. Her flight leaves behind a distinctive energy trail that visually extends from her hair. She is capable of interstellar travel, able to fly across vast distances in space within short timeframes.

Starfire possesses enhanced vision, superhuman strength, and durability. She also exhibits pyrokinesis and resistance to telepathic intrusion, rendering her thoughts difficult to read or manipulate. Through physical contact, she can absorb languages instantly, as demonstrated when she learned English by kissing Dick Grayson. She also has the ability to project her astral form, use a soul-self, and demonstrate empathic healing and emotional sensing.

In combat, Starfire is a highly trained and seasoned warrior, having studied under the Warlords of Okaara in both armed and unarmed techniques. She has repeatedly defeated Donna Troy in sparring and even won an Amazonian tournament, earning praise from Queen Hippolyta, who noted that Starfire rivals Wonder Woman in battle. She is skilled in striking pressure points and has demonstrated limited precognitive abilities, allowing her to sense or anticipate danger.
