Soukaku is a young oni whose early life was shaped by the conflict between humans and oni. During the Oni Rebellion, she wandered through the battlefield searching for food and encountered Tsukishiro Yanagi, who protected her from an incoming missile and shared her rations with her. Yanagi had been sent to confront the rebellion’s leader, an older oni whom Soukaku called her sister. After that conflict ended, Yanagi became Soukaku’s legal guardian and brought her to New Eridu, where Soukaku began learning about human society under her care. Records of Soukaku’s birth and life before meeting Yanagi remain unavailable, and her limited education has largely been handled at home.

Soukaku later joined Hollow Special Operations Section 6 under H.A.N.D., serving alongside Yanagi, Hoshimi Miyabi, and Asaba Harumasa. Although she holds an executive officer position, she is also regarded as one of the unit’s major combat assets because of her physical power and ability to fight effectively inside Hollows. She took part in Section 6’s operations against dangerous Ethereals and other threats to New Eridu, following Miyabi’s command while remaining under Yanagi’s guardianship. Outside missions, Soukaku is closely associated with her enormous appetite, her hatred of wasted food, and her desire to keep the members of Section 6 together and well fed.

Appearance: Soukaku has bright azure-blue skin and a petite, youthful build with slender limbs, narrow shoulders, and long legs. She has short, tousled white hair with layered ends, thick side locks, and uneven bangs framing her face. Two long black horns with vivid blue bases rise from her head, tapering into sharp points. She has pointed ears with a small black earring hanging from one ear, a long blue tail ending in a darker pointed tip, and orange-red eyes.

She wears a cropped teal jacket with oversized cuffs, a wide folded collar, black trim, a front zipper, and a large side buckle fastened around her waist. Beneath it is a white collared shirt with a gray necktie, the shirt extending below the jacket in layered pointed panels. A short black pleated skirt sits over fitted blue shorts. A dark thigh strap circles one leg and supports a compact black utility pouch. Decorative patches are attached to both thighs, including a white rectangular patch with black markings and a green monster-mouth patch. A bright lime-green circular oni emblem is fastened at the front of her belt.

Her footwear consists of oversized gray high-top shoes with thick segmented soles, reinforced toe caps, heavy buckles, and metallic hardware. She carries an enormous gray bladed weapon nearly matching her height. The weapon has a broad rectangular blade with chipped edges, exposed bolts, mechanical joints, black support rails, white oni-like symbols near the lower section, and a long dark handle wrapped with alternating gray grip bands. The upper end of the handle is capped with a large hexagonal metal fitting surrounding a rectangular opening, while the lower portion connects into the massive blade through reinforced mechanical brackets. Small jagged paper talismans hang from the weapon near the handle.

Personality: Soukaku is cheerful, excitable, and straightforward, with limited formal education and little interest in complicated explanations. She is easily distracted by food and has an enormous appetite, partly shaped by the hunger she experienced during the conflict involving the oni. Soukaku dislikes wasted food and often judges situations according to whether a meal is available. Despite her childish behavior, she is a dependable combatant who follows orders and becomes aggressive when her companions are threatened. Her limited vocabulary can make her appear unintelligent, though she understands loyalty, danger, and the emotions of the people close to her.

Tsukishiro Yanagi is Soukaku’s legal guardian and closest family figure. Yanagi protected her during the conflict, shared food with her, brought her into human society, and oversees her education and welfare. Soukaku is strongly attached to Yanagi and accepts her discipline even when she would rather eat or avoid studying. She also remembers an oni whom she calls her older sister, whose connection to the rebellion shaped Soukaku’s early life. Hoshimi Miyabi is Soukaku’s commander in Section 6, and Soukaku respects her strength while carrying out her orders during Hollow operations. Asaba Harumasa is her teammate and frequently shares the unit’s informal daily life with her. Soukaku regards Section 6 as her home, depending on Yanagi for guidance while treating Miyabi and Harumasa as members of her extended family.

Combat Overview: Soukaku fights with a massive bladed weapon that can function as an axe or planted banner. She uses heavy slashes, charging strikes, evasive counters, and powerful parries while releasing freezing wind and Ice energy across a wide area. By building up energy within the weapon, she can plant it into the ground and enter an empowered state that makes her movements faster and her attacks far more destructive.

Her strongest techniques combine rapid cutting blows with sweeping bursts of frost before she raises the weapon as a rallying flag. This display strengthens the next ally entering combat and restores energy to the rest of her squad, making Soukaku effective as both a frontline fighter and a source of support for Section 6.

Lore: Proxies are individuals who guide those who enter the Hollows. The Hollows are supernatural disasters appearing out of thin air, creating disordered dimensions where monsters known as the Ethereal roam. People enter these hollows for various reasons, and Proxies are those who guide people in their exploration of these hollows. Contemporary civilization was destroyed by the Hollows, but one civilization known as New Eridu managed to survive the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to extract valuable resources out of the Hollows. The Hollows then became industrialized and monetized under the city's administration, which gradually led to the increasing tension between monopolistic enterprises, gangs, conspirators, and fanatics.

The Ethereals are mysterious monsters that roam the Hollows. Ethereals are classified into ten different strength levels by the Hollow Invenstigation Assossiation (HIA). Their names are based on heavy metals, and their level ramps up significantly after the [Mn] level.

Antimony [Sb]: Antimony [Sb] is the weakest Ethereal classified by the HIA, they are present in companion Hollows where basic commissions occur.

Tin [Sn]: Only a few Tin [Sn] Ethereals are present in companion Hollows.

Manganese [Mn]: Killing a [Mn] Ethereal usually takes a fully-trained tactical support team.

New Eridu is the last surviving city after contemporary civilization was destroyed by the Hollows. New Eridu managed to survive and thrive after the apocalypse by acquiring the technology to be able to extract resources out of the Hollows.

Bangboo are intelligent devices unique to New Eridu. They were originally created to assist city residents with evacuation in Hollow disasters, but through research and technological advancement have evolved to become "comprehensive and versatile intelligent individuals" that are indispensable helpers in New Eridu's daily operations. Most Bangboo are short and stout, only around knee-height. They have ears resembling bunny ears on the top of their heads, and a black screen for a face, which can display colored circles as eyes.
