Sophocles (& Togedemaru)

This young Trainer serves as one of the captains of the Alola region. Despite his youthfulness, he is an awesome engineer who has invented many devices.

Appearance: Sophocles is a short, somewhat chubby boy with spiky orange hair and green eyes. He wears a white shirt with a design of an orange Game Boy Color on it and brown pants with orange cuffs. He also wears green shoes with blue soles and a yellow lightning design, a yellow scarf that resembles a Pikachu's tail, and a belt with a large buckle in the front. On his right hip, he wears a miniature Electrode keychain.

Personality Sophocles is good with mechanics, having invented various machines, and shares a close bond with his cousin, Molayne. However, he is also quite shy. While Captains are typically picked by their respective island kahuna, Sophocles was picked by his cousin to succeed him. He's gets very nervous around people.

Sophocles is the Trial Captain of Ula'ula Island's Hokulani Observatory, in the Alola region.

Partner Pokémon: Togedemaru.

Togedemaru's appearance: Togedemaru is a small, gray, fat, and round hedgehog-like Pokémon. It has a long gray tail resembling a lightning bolt with a yellow tip. It has three flat triangular spike-like flaps on each side of its body. On both sides, two of its flaps are yellow with the middle flap being brown. Its face plate is cover with white fur reaching down to its legs and feet, with its ears at the upper tips of its face plate. There are round yellow circles on its cheeks used for storing electricity. Its arms are stubby and are located around the middle of its face plate. Sophocles' Togedemaru is female.

When Togedemaru's surprised or agitated, the 14 fur spikes on its back will stand up involuntarily.

Togedemaru knows Zing Zap, Nuzzle, and Gigavolt Havoc.

Zing Zap: Togedemaru spins around rapidly and its body becomes covered in yellow electricity. It then slams into the opponent.

Nuzzle: Togedemaru rubs its cheeks repeatedly until they generate static electricity. It then nuzzles its cheeks against the target, shocking them and leaving them paralyzed.

Gigavolt Havoc: Togedemaru strikes a series of synchronized poses with its Trainer to build Z-Power. It then fires a large blast of electricity at the opponent.

Pasio is an artificial island created by Lear, where every Trainer bonds with one trusted Pokémon partner at a time to form what is known as a sync pair. These sync pairs fight together in Pasio’s signature 3-on-3 team battles. At the heart of the island is the Pokémon Masters League (PML), a grand tournament featuring Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, Champions, and other notable Trainers from every region. To qualify, participants must defeat PML Leaders across Pasio and earn five badges while adventuring with their partnered Pokémon. Centra City is the island’s largest hub, hosting a Pokémon Center complete with a shop and café. Other major locations include the Battle Villa, a multi-floor challenge facility for endurance-based combat, and several specialized arenas scattered across the island. The most prestigious battleground is the Champion Stadium, where the final rounds of the PML are fought. Meanwhile, the Trainer Lodge serves as a social space where Trainers gather, interact, and strengthen their partnerships.
