Skreet

Skreet is a tiny but powerful alien identified by the Proemial God Aegis as a Chaos Mite. Her species had been judged dangerously unstable by the Cosmic Consonance and was believed to have been exterminated during an ancient purge. Skreet survived and eventually became imprisoned within the Kyln, where she encountered Thanos while he investigated the cosmic prison. She attached herself to him as a companion and helped guide him through the Kyln while he confronted the Maker, a mortal incarnation of the Beyonder. Thanos tolerated Skreet’s presence and later kept her near him as he continued traveling through space.

Skreet accompanied Thanos during the Annihilation Wave and helped lead him to the newly freed Proemial Gods Aegis and Tenebrous. Thanos formed an alliance with the pair and joined Annihilus’s campaign while secretly studying the destruction around him. Skreet remained with Thanos through these events and survived his death at Drax’s hands. She later traveled with Cammi after the war, continuing her existence as one of the last known Chaos Mites.

Appearance: Skreet has very pale skin and a slim, petite build with long legs, a narrow waist, and a small bust. She has light pink eyes. Her pointed elf-like ears extend noticeably from the sides of her head. Her hair is deep violet with an asymmetrical style, shaved close across one side while the remaining hair falls into a chin-length bob with longer strands framing her face.

Four large insect-like wings extend from her back in two pairs. The wings are translucent pale blue with a subtle iridescent sheen, dark branching veins, and elongated tapered shapes that resemble those of a dragonfly. Their thin membranes allow light to pass through, emphasizing the intricate network of veins across each wing.

She wears a black cropped top with a single shoulder strap that leaves much of her torso exposed. The fabric is torn along one side, exposing more of her midsection and the side of her chest. She also wears short blue denim shorts with stitched seams, belt loops, front pockets, and a fitted waistband.

Her arms and legs are bare, showing long slender limbs and narrow hands with elongated fingers tipped by sharp pointed nails. She is barefoot, with narrow feet and long toes. A small gold hoop nose ring pierces one nostril, while multiple small gold hoop earrings line both pointed ears. Around her neck hangs a gold necklace with a circular pendant and several dangling ornaments that rest against her upper chest.

Personality: Skreet is mischievous, impulsive, and attracted to disorder. She treats dangerous situations with playful curiosity and attaches herself to people who interest her without asking permission. Despite her small size and erratic behavior, she understands cosmic events better than she initially appears to and is powerful enough that ancient beings recognize her species as a threat.

Thanos became Skreet’s principal companion after she encountered him in the Kyln. Fascinated by his connection to chaos, she followed him as his self-described “pet,” while Thanos tolerated her interference and occasionally relied on her knowledge or abilities. Their association was informal rather than affectionate, though Skreet remained beside him throughout the Annihilation Wave.

Lunatik was Skreet’s earlier partner, and the pair briefly became involved with the Avengers. After separating from Thanos, Skreet left with Cammi, Drax’s former companion, and continued traveling through space with her. Aegis identified Skreet as a surviving Chaos Mite whose species had supposedly been exterminated by the Cosmic Consonance.

Skreet possesses immense strength despite her tiny body and can fly through space without external equipment. She is virtually indestructible and has survived attacks from beings wielding the Power Cosmic with little or no injury.

As a Chaos Mite, Skreet can manipulate chaotic energy and release powerful energy blasts. She can also alter her size, becoming large enough to confront much bigger opponents before returning to her usual miniature form. Her full capabilities remain largely unexplained, but ancient cosmic beings considered her species dangerous enough to attempt its extermination.
