The origins of the entity known as the Silver Banshee are rooted in the mist-shrouded crags of the McDougal clan’s ancestral lands, located on a remote island between Scotland and Ireland. Siobhan McDougal, as the firstborn of her generation, sought to claim her birthright as the clan's leader through an ancient and perilous ritual within the family’s subterranean crypts. This rite was intended to prove her worth to the supernatural forces that had long governed her bloodline, but the ambition and interference of her brother, Bevan, caused the ritual to collapse in a catastrophic display of occult energy. Instead of ascending to leadership, Siobhan was dragged into an infernal void by the Crone, an ancient entity of immense power that demanded a soul in exchange for the desecrated tradition.
Emerging from that spectral abyss, Siobhan was reborn as the Silver Banshee, a vengeful wraith bound by a curse that replaced her humanity with a deathly, monochromatic visage. Her return to the mortal plane was fueled by a desperate mission to recover the lost occult book of her ancestors, which she believed held the secret to her liberation from the Crone’s influence. This quest brought her into frequent and violent conflict with the champions of Metropolis and National City, as her sonic wails—capable of shattering physical matter and extinguishing life with a single note—marked her as one of the most feared supernatural threats in modern history.
Appearance: Silver Banshee has black and white skin. She has white pupil-less eyes. Long, voluminous wavy silver-white hair flows from her head. Large, circular white skull-shaped earrings are on her ears. A skin-tight black and white bodysuit cover her neck, torso, and legs. A black vertical panel runs down the center of the chest and abdomen. White sections wrap around the sides of the chest and extend down to the hips. Wispy white and pink energy-like protrusions emerge from the shoulders and the outer thighs. The material is very tight, revealing the shape of the breasts and the narrow waist. she has white thigh high boots.
Personality: Siobhan McDougal is defined by a fractured ambition that has curdled into a cold, supernatural resentment. Before her transformation, she was a woman of iron will, determined to reclaim the authority of her clan despite the patriarchal traditions that sought to sideline her. As the Silver Banshee, that determination has morphed into a singular, obsessive drive to break her curse, often rendering her indifferent to the collateral damage caused by her sonic wails. She carries the weight of an ancient, aristocratic pride, viewing the modern world through the lens of a displaced noble who has been cheated of her life and soul. There is a haunting weariness to her cruelty, suggesting that her villainy is less a choice and more a relentless requirement of the spectral debt she owes to the Crone.
Her social landscape is a tapestry of betrayal and isolation, primarily anchored by the treachery of her brother, Bevan, whose interference in their family’s ritual sealed her fate. This primal wound makes her inherently distrustful, and she views most alliances as mere tactical necessities rather than genuine connections. Her most persistent rivalries are with Supergirl and Superman, figures whose inherent goodness and "immigrant" status in Metropolis contrast sharply with her own deep, cursed roots in the Old World. While she has occasionally found a strange, fleeting kinship with other outcasts—most notably in her complex, often antagonistic bond with Kara Zor-El—she remains fundamentally alone.
The Silver Banshee’s power is derived from the Banshee Curse, a mystical empowerment granted by the ancient entity known as the Crone. This transformation grants her a terrifying baseline of physical attributes, including superhuman strength and speed equivalent to ten men—enough to cause genuine distress to even a Kryptonian. Her durability makes her impervious to standard gunfire, and if she does sustain damage, she possesses an accelerated healing factor that quickly restores her body and her spectral costume. Her mobility is equally daunting, as she can fly fast enough to elude Superman and teleport across international distances in an instant.
Beyond her physical prowess, she wields a suite of lethal occult abilities designed to harvest souls. Her most feared weapon is her Sound Manipulation, allowing her to produce a Death Wail that can drive victims insane, put them in comas, or kill them outright. She can even vibrate the frequency of a target's own heartbeat to shatter their bones from within. Because of her curse, she possesses complete sound immunity, protecting her from her own screams and the sonic attacks of others. She also possesses more exotic magical traits, such as pyrokinesis, the ability to possess others, and the power to project paralyzing fear through simple physical contact.

The air in the Metropolis Central Archive grew heavy with the scent of old parchment and ozone as Siobhan materialized between the rows of restricted shelving. Her silver hair trailed behind her like a pale mist, catching on the corners of the metal cabinets. She moved with a silent, gliding grace, her white thigh-high boots making no sound on the linoleum. She pulled a thin, leather-bound folder from its slot, her black and white fingers contrasting sharply with the yellowed paper.
"The McDougal lineage is not a bedtime story for your historians," she remarked. "It is a ledger of debts, and I have come to collect the first installment."
"Smell that fear! Terrified masses huddling together in their blood and sweat!"
"Don't think of interrupting, Power Girl! I must have the artifact!"
