Shatterstar, born Gaveedra-Seven, originates from the dimension of Mojoworld, a nightmarish reality ruled by the media-obsessed tyrant Mojo. He was genetically engineered as a gladiator to provide entertainment for the masses in televised death matches. His life was defined by perpetual warfare until he led a successful rebellion against the slave-driving regime, eventually fleeing the dimension to seek aid on Earth. His arrival brought him into contact with Cable and the burgeoning X-Force, where he transitioned from a displaced combatant into a dedicated, albeit unconventional, superhero.

His history is heavily defined by his complex, shifting lineage and his search for personal identity. He eventually discovered that his genetic template was partially derived from the DNA of Rictor and Longshot, a revelation that recontextualized his origins and added a layer of temporal irony to his existence.
