Scourge

Scourge is a pureblood Sith male who rises through the ranks of the reconstituted Sith Empire to become one of its most feared and powerful enforcers. Trained at the Sith Academy on Dromund Kaas, he excels in both lightsaber combat and mastery of the dark side. After a period of service in the Empire’s outer territories, he is recalled to the capital to investigate a series of assassination attempts on Darth Nyriss of the Dark Council. Manipulated into killing Darth Xedrix, Scourge learns that Nyriss orchestrated the entire ordeal to test his loyalty. She then reveals the horrifying truth about the Sith Emperor, who annihilates all life on Nathema in a dark-side ritual to become immortal. Shaken by the Emperor’s limitless ambition, Scourge joins Jedi Masters Revan and Meetra Surik in a plot to stop him.

However, Scourge receives a prophetic vision of a different Jedi—one destined to destroy the Emperor. To ensure that future comes to pass, he betrays his allies, sacrifices his morality, and swears loyalty to the very ruler he once sought to kill. In return, the Emperor grants him immortality and names him the Emperor’s Wrath—his personal executioner and enforcer. Over the course of more than three centuries, Scourge serves the Emperor without hesitation, eliminating all who threaten his reign. Yet the immortality ritual strips him of his senses—he can no longer feel warmth, taste food, or experience pleasure. He becomes emotionally numb, clinging only to memories of sensations he once cherished.

Despite his grim duties, Scourge never abandons the vision. When he finally encounters the Hero of Tython—the Jedi from his prophecy—he carefully begins to turn against the Sith. After helping the Hero resist the Emperor’s control, Scourge openly allies with the Jedi and their companions to stop the Emperor from repeating the Nathema ritual on a galactic scale. With Scourge’s aid, the Hero defeats the Emperor’s servants and vanquishes the Sith ruler in a final battle. For his role, Scourge is honored by the Republic and awarded the Cross of Glory.

Physically, Scourge is a towering pureblood Sith with crimson skin, bright red eyes, and facial tendrils. He wears spiked, black, heavy armor and wields a red lightsaber with a fang-like hilt and spiked crossguard. He is a master swordsman, fluent in Soresu, Ataru, and Juyo, and blends powerful two-handed strikes with unarmed combat and Force-augmented blows. He often channels Force lightning through his fists and enhances his physicality through the Force to achieve incredible speed and power. Scourge also demonstrates an advanced ability to conceal his presence in the Force, using it as both a cloak and a survival mechanism.

Though molded by Sith ideology, Scourge is more pragmatic than fanatical. He respects strength but despises wasteful cruelty and views the Sith’s endless hunger for dominance as ultimately self-destructive. He rejects Jedi notions of mercy as weakness but gradually comes to value loyalty, purpose, and companionship—especially after the Emperor’s final death ends his immortality and restores his emotions.

Appearance: Lord Scourge is a tall and imposing pureblood Sith male with a heavily muscled build. His skin is a deep crimson, typical of his species, and his face is marked by prominent facial tendrils that extend from his cheeks and chin. His eyes glow with a piercing, blood-red hue. He has a bald head and scar-lined face.

Scourge wears a suit of dark, heavy armor. The armor is angular and battle-scarred, composed of black plating with metallic silver trim across the shoulders, chest, and limbs. It also features large pauldrons, segmented greaves, and gauntlets integrated with energy conduits and dark-side enhancement technology. A flowing black cape drapes from his back.

Sith Purebloods are a species of red-skinned humanoids that originated on the world of Korriban, before eventually resettling on the ice-world of Ziost. Also distinct for their bone spurs, facial tentacles, and genetic predispositions toward both left-handedness and the dark side of the Force.
