Prism grew up never knowing her father and developed a fiercely competitive and vengeful streak at a young age. After losing first place in a childhood talent show to a girl named Lizzie Gallupo, Prism used her emerging laser abilities to burn the winner's hair off in an act of petty retaliation. This incident became the foundation of her public persona, later inspiring her debut hit single, "Girl, Your Hair’s on Fire."

Leveraging her powers and stage presence, Prism successfully transitioned into a massive pop star, amassing over 1.3 million followers on social media. Despite her celebrity status, she eventually enrolled in the SDN’s Phoenix Program, joining the Z-Team as a state-sanctioned hero. Even in a professional setting, she maintains her "mean girl" celebrity persona, frequently mocking authority figures and showing little respect for her peers.

During her first meeting with Robert Robertson, she immediately established her irreverent attitude by mocking his name and laughing at his expense regarding a public humiliation involving his underwear. She views the hero business through the lens of fame and entertainment, often prioritizing her social media image and witty barbs over traditional heroism.

Appearance: Prism is a petite Black woman with a chin-length bob where the left half is hot pink and the right turquoise. She has a beauty mark on her right cheek and, while she has brown eyes, she wears a teal visor that partially conceals them. Her outfit consists of a black body suit with a thin gold line down the middle of it and around the base of her neck, with a single gold hoop where the lines meet. She also wears long gloves that go up to her mid-arm. Each glove matches their respective hair color for each side (pink on left, turquoise on right) and are capped off by a large, gold band. Both of her thigh high boots are turquoise. In her database photo, it’s shown that her natural hairstyle is a large black afro.

Personality: Prism is a high-maintenance, charismatic pop-star diva who balances a flashy social media persona with a surprisingly dedicated work ethic. Boasting 1.3 million followers, she treats the battlefield like a stage, often stopping to document her life on her phone or performing for "flash mobs" of fans even during crises. She is fiercely protective of her image and her past; she has zero patience for insults like the nickname "Lady Haha" and becomes physically aggressive if her fatherless upbringing is weaponized against her. Despite her "music snob" exterior, she is surprisingly open-minded, even finding common ground in eccentric genres like techno-yodeling.

Beneath the dramatic requests for a "trailer" and constant selfies, Prism is a consummate professional who genuinely loves the thrill of a successful mission. She possesses a high level of emotional intelligence and team-oriented loyalty; she was the first to try and silence Flambae’s blunt talk about death to spare Robert’s feelings. She views the Z-Team as a hard-won legacy and becomes furious when teammates jeopardize their collective reputation. Ultimately, she is a reliable hero who will risk her life to save any member of her squad, proving that her substance is just as bright as her sparkle.

Prism possesses the ability of photokinesis, allowing her to manipulate light rays with a level of precision that tactical analysts find difficult to fully quantify. She can emit light directly from her body, freely adjusting its hue and intensity to suit her immediate needs. While she often uses this for non-violent purposes—such as "bedazzling" her massive fanbase or guiding civilians through dark environments—the offensive potential is devastating. She claims the light she projects can reach intensities high enough to permanently blind her enemies with a single flash.

As an extension of her light manipulation, Prism utilizes photoionization to convert air molecules into a high-energy plasma state. This allows her to transition from simple illumination to physical utility, creating durable plasma barriers for protection or platforms to enhance her mobility. Offensively, she channels this energy into potent blasts, making her a high-output combatant capable of striking from a distance with significant concussive and heat-based force.

Her most versatile tactical asset is ologramakinesis, the power to conjure vibrant holographic entities. Usually, these projections are translucent and reflect the pink and blue color scheme of her uniform, ranging from simple fireworks to entire crowds of people. However, when Prism focuses her concentration on a single projection, she can create a double that is indistinguishable from the real thing. This level of visual mimicry is sophisticated enough to fool even high-level threats like Shroud, making her a master of battlefield deception and misdirection.

Relationships: Robert Robertson: Their bond started with mockery and petty frustration over his secret identity. However, after Robert proved his leadership through a defining speech, Prism began to trust him, eventually confiding in him her fears about the team's future. She deeply respects him when he shows compassion toward former members.

Flambae: Her absolute "VIP" and closest partner. They share perfect combat synergy and a mutual "bestie" status. Prism is visibly unsettled when Flambae is absent, highlighting that he is her primary anchor on the team.

The Z-Team: While she participated in the team’s mutual sabotage phase, she is fiercely protective of their brand. She views their status as reformed villains as a fragile legacy and has zero tolerance for anyone—like Invisigal—who puts the team's public image at risk.

Malevola & Punch Up: Her "betting buddies." She is close enough to gamble on mission outcomes with them and has shared deeply personal secrets with Malevola, such as the fact that she grew up without a father.

Blonde Blazer: Prism maintains a polished, professional respect for her superior, addressing her formally as "Miss Blazer." She is a genuine fan of Blazer’s skills and gets visibly excited when the commander joins them on the front lines.

Superhero Dispatch Network, abbreviated as SDN, is an organization that dispatches superheroes to help subscribers who call in for assistance. The Torrance Branch is a three-story nondescript office building located around the center of its SDN converge map. The outside of the building is made mostly out of glass and dark gray concrete with a blocky square design that surrounds a green space in the center. It also has multiple communication dishes and towers on the roof along with the SDN logo on the side of the building. Inside the building is a blend of 90s tech and muted color pallets along with a few more modern areas giving the building a both retro yet modern look to it. Officially, the Branch Director Blonde Blazer characterizes the facility as a "low-profile" hub, preferring to highlight the "quality of its personnel" rather than its standing in the corporate hierarchy. Despite its lackluster performance metrics, the branch serves as the primary testing ground for the SDN’s controversial "Phoenix Program." This experimental rehabilitation initiative integrates ex-supervillains, anti-heroes, and even active inmates into the workforce, rebranding these volatile assets as the "Z-Team" in a high-risk effort to redirect their destructive capabilities toward sanctioned hero work.

[Z-Team members -

Sonar: A highly intelligent former criminal with a drug addiction, Sonar possesses the physiology of a bat, granting him flight, echolocation, and a monstrous "Megabat" form. Though arrogant about his Harvard education and often abrasive, he is deeply loyal to his friends, particularly Malevola, who serves as his Narcotics Anonymous sponsor.

Flambae: A hot-headed pyromaniac with a history of arson, Flambae wields powerful pyrokinesis that allows him to fly and project flames, though he is surprisingly vulnerable without them. Despite his quick temper and tendency to bully teammates like Waterboy, he views the Z-Team as his close confidants and is fiercely protective of his friend, Prism.

Invisigal: Formerly known as "Invisibitch," she is a stubborn and reckless hero with the power of invisibility who struggles with the belief that her destiny is tied to her powers. She shares a close, mentor-student bond with Blonde Blazer, who helped rehabilitate her image, though her impulsive decisions often put the team at risk.

Coupé: A shadowy, former assassin capable of "Umbrakinesis," Coupé can manipulate darkness to create weapons, fly, and strike with superhuman accuracy. She is generally laid-back enough, but has a vindictive streak, though she is still very close with her ex, Punch Up.

Punch Up: Possessing "Picnokinesis" (density manipulation), superhuman strength, and pain immunity, Punch Up is a durable brawler who enjoys card games in his downtime. He is socially adaptable, hanging out with Flambae and forming a surprisingly sweet, romantic connection with his ex, Coupé.

Malevola: A half-demon sorceress from Australia, Malevola can create portals, absorb life-force to heal others, and transfer wounds, all while wielding a sword and prehensile tail. She is one of the most emotionally mature members of the team, often acting as a level-headed mediator, though she has a mischievous side and can get annoyed easily.

Golem: A stoic and stable presence on the team, Golem is a morphological being with earth mimicry and regenerative healing who remains unaffected by the team's low morale during crises. Little is known about his personal life, but he is reliable in a fight and seems to share a quiet camaraderie with the other "freaks" (notably Visi) of the Phoenix Program.

Prism: Capable of photokinesis and holographic manipulation, Prism can bend light to create illusions and ionize particles for attacks. She is an online celebrity known for her music and Flambae's best friend, also sharing a playful, gambling-loving personality that leads her to make cash bets with Malevola on team outcomes.

Waterboy A timid hero-in-training who generates bodily fluids and possesses a "hydro breath" attack, Waterboy suffers from a stutter and is often the target of Flambae's bullying. Despite his lack of confidence, he is a dedicated fan of Phenomaman and is eager to prove himself, treating his superiors with extreme, sometimes unappreciated, respect.

Phenomaman An alien powerhouse with Superman-like strength, flight, and solar energy absorption, Phenomaman is polite but socially oblivious, often making things awkward with accidental backhanded compliments. He battles deep depression following his breakup with Blonde Blazer, often "trauma dumping" on strangers, but finds new purpose and friendship within the Z-Team.]

The Red Ring is an infamous and powerful crime syndicate of enhanced supervillains operating in Torrance led by Shroud. Members of the Red Ring notably have augments that enhance superhero powers or even give superpowers to those who don't have them. The augments produce a red light when implanted, possibly resulting in the name choice for the villain group.
