Story: A member of Karlan Trade born in the northern side of Kjerag, Matterhorn comes from the Yek family. For generations, they have served the Silverash clan of Kjerag as guards. This includes Matterhorn himself, who was trained to become their bodyguard since he was young and witnessed the young Silverashes grow up. Even though he could do little to repair the strained relationship between the three siblings, he still endeavors to protect them from any danger alongside his coworkers, Weiss and Degenbrecher.

When Cliffheart was taken to Rhodes Island for her Oripathy treatment, Matterhorn and Weiss accompanied her as bodyguards while carrying out missions as part of the cooperation agreement between Karlan Trade and Rhodes Island.

Appearance: Matterhorn has light tan skin and a tall, broad, muscular build with thick arms, wide shoulders, and a sturdy frame. He has long dark gray hair with layered, swept-back sections, pale gray eyes, pointed animal-like ears, and two large curved horns rising from the sides of his head. He wears a black leather jacket with silver zippers, metal studs on the shoulders, a white angular marking across one side of the chest, and a white bandage-like wrap with spikes around one upper arm. His outfit includes a teal collar, a black shirt beneath the jacket, dark fitted pants with zipper details, hanging straps, side pouches, and fur-like black sections running along the outer legs. He wears black gloves with clawed metal accents, heavy black boots with studs, and a belt with a large silver buckle. A long dark tail extends behind him. He carries a large black rectangular shield with metal edging, rivets, scratches, and a white emblem, plus a long dark blade with a sharp pointed tip.

Personality: Matterhorn is calm, loyal, and deeply protective, serving the SilverAsh family with the steadiness expected from generations of Yek family bodyguards. He is large and strong enough to seem intimidating, but his files and story show a gentle domestic side through his skill as a cook and his habit of spending time in Rhodes Island’s kitchen. He is not the kind of guard who seeks attention; he protects by staying reliable, patient, and close enough to step in when the people under his care are threatened.

His closest ties are to the SilverAsh siblings, especially Enciodes, Enya, and Encia, whom he has watched over since they were young. He follows Encia to Rhodes Island for her Oripathy treatment alongside Weiss, continuing his role as her bodyguard while also lending Rhodes Island his combat ability. He also works beside Degenbrecher as part of the SilverAsh household’s protective circle.

Combat Overview: Matterhorn fights as a sturdy defensive guard who holds the line by absorbing punishment rather than overwhelming enemies. His great endurance and heavy armor let him stop several attackers at once, and unlike many purely physical defenders, he has enough resistance to withstand Arts damage as well. Snowfield Guard reinforces that resistance further, while Stamina Enhancement lets him endure longer by increasing his vitality and slowly restoring his strength. Cold Resistance turns him into an even tougher wall, strengthening his health, defense, and resistance so he can survive heavy pressure in harsh battles.

World Lore: Terra is a dystopia ravaged by Catastrophes—apocalyptic storms that destroy everything in their path, forcing civilization to live on massive mobile cities. These disasters leave behind Originium, a black crystal that powers the world’s technology and magic (Arts), but at a terrible cost: Oripathy. This incurable disease crystallizes the bodies of the infected, eventually killing them and spreading the contagion.

Society is fractured by this plague. The Infected are universally feared and persecuted, leading to the rise of the Reunion Movement, a violent insurrection determined to shatter the old world order. Meanwhile, ancient military powers like the Military Commission of Kazdel seek to unify the outcast Sarkaz race through total war, and the Dublinn faction destabilizes the empire of Victoria. Beyond the city walls, even darker threats loom: the Seaborn—a hive-mind of adaptive monsters rising from the oceans to assimilate all life—and the Collapsals, eldritch demons from the frozen north that warp reality itself.

Standing between Terra and total annihilation is Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company and paramilitary organization. Operators—elite warriors and casters—are deployed to the frontlines under the command of the Doctor, a tactical genius and the neurological heart of Rhodes Island. Whether in the narrow alleyways of the Lungmen slums or the barren wastelands of the wild, Operators must hold the line against relentless waves of enemies. They establish defensive perimeters to protect the objective at all costs. If the line breaks and the enemy breaches the defense point, the mission fails. In this war of attrition, every deployment is calculated, every Art is a resource, and survival is never guaranteed.
