Lucy-B091 was a Spartan-III of Beta Company who took part in the catastrophic assault on Pegasi Delta, where nearly her entire company was wiped out by Covenant forces. She survived alongside Tom-B292, but the trauma of witnessing the destruction of her unit left her psychologically scarred and largely unable to speak, though her combat effectiveness remained intact.

Following the operation, she was reassigned to Onyx under the supervision of Kurt-051 and Catherine Halsey, where she helped defend the planet during a Covenant invasion. She later entered the Forerunner shield world beneath Onyx, becoming part of a small group of human survivors. Within that environment, Lucy continued to serve as a highly capable Spartan while adapting to long-term isolation, forming strong bonds with those around her and gradually confronting the trauma that defined her silence.

Appearance: Lucy is described as being tiny and almost miniature to her fellow SPARTAN-IIIs. She has neotenous facial features with a pale complexion, wide dark brown eyes, and black hair worn close-cropped. Her gait was noted as being short and careful.

Lucy-B091 has her entire body enclosed in armored plating, concealing any visible skin, with a compact, athletic build that appears slightly shorter and more streamlined than bulkier counterparts. Her frame is reinforced yet proportionally slimmer through the waist and limbs, giving her armor a tighter, contoured silhouette while still maintaining dense protection. Her helmet fully covers her head with a rounded, matte tan shell marked by scratches, pitting, and worn edges. The front features a deep red visor that spans across the eye area in a single continuous plate, smooth and reflective against the otherwise weathered surface. The lower portion of the helmet includes a reinforced mouth guard with segmented plating and small mechanical ridges. The sides carry integrated components and recessed detailing, blending into the helmet’s layered construction. The chest armor is formed from thick, tan plating with darker underlayers visible at the joints. The surface is heavily scuffed and chipped, exposing darker metal beneath. A small printed marking reading “B091” is visible along the upper chest plate. The torso armor narrows toward the midsection, with overlapping segments that follow the contours of her abdomen and connect into the hip plating seamlessly. Her shoulders are protected by rounded pauldrons with a worn tan finish, each showing dents and abrasion marks. The upper arms transition into darker armored sections, while the forearms feature reinforced gauntlets with visible panel lines and embedded mechanical seams. One forearm includes a muted green plate contrasting with the tan and dark gray tones. Her hands are covered in segmented gloves with hardened knuckles and articulated finger joints. The lower body armor is darker overall, with thick plating covering the hips and thighs. The thigh armor includes angular paneling and small triangular markings etched into the surface. The material shows consistent wear, including scratches, scuffs, and slight discoloration across edges and joints. The armor fits tightly along her legs, maintaining flexibility through segmented sections while preserving a solid, reinforced appearance.

Personality: Lucy-B091 is a highly capable Spartan-III defined by resilience, discipline, and a quiet emotional depth shaped by trauma. After surviving the destruction of her company, she becomes largely nonverbal, communicating through gestures, expressions, and action rather than speech, yet remains fully engaged in combat and mission execution with sharp awareness and precision.

Her strongest bond is with Tom-B292, who treats her as an equal and constant partner, understanding her without needing words and supporting her both in and out of combat. She also develops a meaningful connection with Catherine Halsey during their time on Onyx, where Halsey recognizes Lucy’s intelligence and emotional complexity, and Lucy in turn shows a rare level of trust and openness around her compared to others.

The SPARTAN-III program was a secret project initiated by the Beta-5 Division of the Office of Naval Intelligence's Section-III in order to produce cheap and expendable super soldiers to fight for the survival of humanity and the United Nations Space Command's colonies. The SPARTAN-III program was both the successor and supplement to the SPARTAN-II program.

The SPARTAN-IV program is the fourth iteration of the SPARTAN supersoldier projects. The SPARTAN-IV program utilizes consenting adult volunteers selected from the other branches of the United Nations Space Command. Recruits are drawn from both career military veterans and young soldiers who show considerable promise.

The physical augmentations of the Spartan-IV supersoldiers are significantly less extensive than those of the two preceding programs, although their standard-issue GEN2 Mjolnir armor is more technologically advanced, and designed to compensate for this drawback.

The United Nations Space Command (UNSC) is the military, exploratory, and scientific agency of the Unified Earth Government (UEG) and has acted as the emergency governing body of the human race.

The Covenant is a massive religious hegemony of multiple alien species that completely controlled a large portion of the Orion Arm in the Milky Way Galaxy for thousands of years. The Type-25 plasma rifle, used by Convenant infantry, is a battery-powered directed-energy weapon that is capable of fully automatic fire. The Type-25 Directed Energy Pistol, the plasma pistol, is a Covenant infantry weapon

The Sangheili, or "Elites" as they are known by humans, served as the military leaders of the Covenant. The Sangheili are the only race within the Covenant permitted to build and command starships within the Covenant, though the crews are always composed of a mix of races. The Jiralhanae, or "Brutes" as they are known by humans, were the most recent addition to the Covenant, and served as soldiers and bodyguards within the Covenant military. The Lekgolo are a race of worm-like creatures that can combine to form large, intelligent assemblages called Mgalekgolo, known by humans as "Hunters". Clad in nearly impenetrable armor and armed with their trademark Assault Cannon, they served as the Covenant's heaviest ground troops. Hailing from Balaho, the Unggoy, or "Grunts" as they are known by humans, were the most common and low-ranking caste of the Covenant. They breathe methane gas, and thus must wear a large tank on their back full of methane to survive on other planets. The Kig-Yar, or "Jackals" or "Skirmishers" as they are known by humans, were the scouts and marksmen of the Covenant military due to their superior senses.

The Dropship 77-Troop Carrier, abbreviated D77-TC, or more commonly known as the Pelican, is an extremely versatile aircraft used by the UNSC. Used mainly for medium-lift operations[6] of various personnel, vehicles and equipment, it can also be used as a powerful support gunship.

The Human-Covenant War was instigated by the High Prophets of the Covenant following a discovery which led them to believe that humans were directly related to the Forerunners, contradicting their ancient religion. Seeking to keep various political and religious orders intact, the High Prophets declared a holy war of genocide against the human species, and the discovery of their relation to the Forerunners was kept a secret. With superior firepower, numbers and technology, the Covenant would repeatedly overpower the UNSC across hundreds of human-inhabited worlds, including the heavily defended strongholds of Reach and Earth. Humanity would win only scattered and costly victories.
