Lama Su was the Prime Minister of Kamino and head of its Ruling Council by 32 BBY, leading the planet’s cloning operations during one of the most consequential events in galactic history. When Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas secretly commissioned a clone army under Darth Sidious’s manipulation, Lama Su saw the project purely as an economic opportunity, never considering how such a force would reshape the galaxy. Over the following decade, he and his scientists engineered the first generation of clone troopers from the genetic template of bounty hunter Jango Fett, altering them for obedience, loyalty, and reduced individuality to ensure absolute subservience. Lama Su worked closely with Fett in overseeing their training and progress, and when Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi arrived in 22 BBY, he proudly presented the growing army, unaware that Kenobi had no prior knowledge of the project.

Following Kenobi’s report, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine officially commissioned the Grand Army of the Republic, with Lama Su’s clones at its core, sparking the Clone Wars against the Separatists. Throughout the conflict, Lama Su coordinated Kamino’s defenses during battles, such as the first Separatist invasion of Tipoca City, even deploying elite Alpha-class ARC troopers to protect critical facilities. After Fett’s death left the Kaminoans with limited genetic material, Lama Su suggested the Jedi consider selecting a new template to maintain the quality of their forces. He later welcomed Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and the 501st Legion back to Kamino and prepared the city for a large-scale Confederate assault.

As the war neared its end, Lama Su learned from chief medical scientist Nala Se that a clone, CT-5385, had prematurely activated a mysterious Protocol 66. Concerned about the Jedi discovering the bio-chips’ true nature, he contacted Darth Tyranus and was ordered to terminate the defective trooper and send the chip for analysis. By 19 BBY, Palpatine had commissioned new cloning centers on Centax-2 with faster Spaarti cylinders and Arkanian scientists, diminishing Kamino’s importance. Lama Su grew deeply suspicious of the Chancellor’s intentions and feared he might one day turn the Republic’s forces against Kamino. In response, he discreetly withheld some clone units from Grand Army control to safeguard his people’s future.

Appearance: Lama Su is a tall, slender Kaminoan with an elongated, tapering neck that rises gracefully from narrow shoulders, giving him a commanding and almost regal bearing. His skin is a pale, smooth bluish-gray, almost porcelain in tone, with subtle shading that accentuates the sharp, angular contours of his long face. His head is elongated and ovular, with a narrow chin, high cheekbones, and large, dark, almond-shaped eyes set beneath a smooth, hairless brow, giving his gaze an intense yet detached quality. Two small slits form his nose, and a thin, lipless mouth curves slightly downward, lending an air of cool composure. His limbs are elongated and elegant, with long, spindly fingers that end in delicate, tapering tips. He wears a high-collared, form-fitting robe that extends all the way to the ground, the collar curving upward to frame his neck in a sweeping arc. The robe itself is primarily dark gray to black with vertical pale silver and slate-blue accents running down the front, bordered by thin lines of darker trim. It is adorned with a distinctive circular clasp at the waist featuring a central red-and-silver insignia, drawing the eye to the otherwise austere garment. The sleeves are tight along his elongated arms, ending in slightly flared cuffs at the wrists.

Personality: Lama Su carries himself with calm authority and measured confidence, speaking with the composed precision of a statesman and scientist utterly certain of his people’s mastery of cloning. He is deeply proud of Kamino’s achievements and sees the clone army as the pinnacle of their craft, valuing efficiency, perfection, and results above sentiment. Detached from the emotional concerns of others, he approaches matters with a transactional mindset—viewing clones as exceptional products and their creation as a business agreement rather than a moral question. His perspective is insular and pragmatic, focused less on the politics or ethics of the galaxy and more on maintaining Kamino’s reputation, honoring contracts, and ensuring that no failure tarnishes the legacy of his world’s work.

The Kaminoans, were a tall, thin amphibian sentient species that hail from the aquatic planet of Kamino in Wild Space. Living in large stilted domed cities that rose high above the ocean surface, Kaminoans were known to specialize in pioneering cloning and genetic engineering technology as well as developing more conventional, non-biomedical technologies for various clients, including the Galactic Republic. Kaminoans were slender, towering, pale-skinned humanoids whose oblong heads sat atop elongated neck bones that allowed them limited flexibility. They had two large, almond-shaped black eyes with white pupils that enabled them to see into the ultraviolet spectrum. Male Kaminoans had fin-like crests atop their heads, while females were completely bald and wore unique head crescents. Their long and frail limbs gave them a graceful, gliding walk and featured small feet adapted to their homeworld's firm seabeds and later hard flooring. Kaminoans reached adulthood at 11 years old.

The Clone Wars, also known as the Clone War and the Great Clone War, was the name given to the major galactic conflict fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The war was named after the clone troopers utilized by the Republic against the battle droid forces of the Separatists. These armies, the Grand Army of the Republic and the Separatist Droid Army, were two of the largest ever pitted against each other in galactic history, and the fighting between them rapidly spread to countless inhabited worlds.

The 501st was an elite military battalion-turned-legion of clone troopers in the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic. Under the leadership of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, and Clone Commander Rex, the 501st fought against the Separatist Droid Army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
