Juno Eclipse is a human female revolutionary who serves as an officer in the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War, having defected from the Galactic Empire after being accused of treason. Born on the Core World Corulag near the end of the Clone Wars, she is the daughter of a civilian engineer and a teacher. After her mother’s death, Eclipse enlists in the Imperial Military, hoping to earn the respect of her father, a staunch supporter of Emperor Palpatine and the New Order. She becomes the youngest cadet accepted into the Corulag Academy and eventually leaves her homeworld to pursue a career in the Imperial Navy. Her skill as a TIE pilot earns her the rank of Captain and the attention of Darth Vader, who promotes her to lead his elite Black Eight Squadron. Though an exceptional pilot, Eclipse openly questions Vader’s methods, especially after the massacre of Callos, which leads to her reassignment.

Assigned to pilot the Rogue Shadow, Eclipse works alongside Vader’s secret apprentice, the assassin codenamed Starkiller. She aids him in hunting the surviving Jedi from the purge of Order 66, including General Rahm Kota and Jedi Master Shaak Ti. However, Vader ultimately betrays his apprentice, and Eclipse is arrested as a traitor for her association with him. Starkiller, unwilling to abandon her, rescues her from Imperial custody. She then joins him in his efforts to unite enemies of the Empire and form a rebellion.

Though initially unaware of Starkiller’s continued loyalty to Vader, Eclipse remains by his side, and their partnership slowly evolves into a deep emotional bond. After Vader betrays him a second time, Eclipse pilots the Rogue Shadow to the Death Star, where the Alliance’s founding senators are imprisoned. She ensures Starkiller reaches them, and though he sacrifices his life battling Vader and Emperor Palpatine, his actions save the Rebellion. In the aftermath, Eclipse becomes the commanding officer of the Alliance Fleet’s flagship, the Salvation.

Outwardly, Eclipse exemplifies Imperial excellence, but her strong moral compass constantly conflicts with the Empire’s cruelty and oppression. Her sense of justice ultimately helps shape the Rebel Alliance and influences the fate of the galaxy. In addition to her ethical strength, she is a brilliant student, expert pilot, talented mechanic, and exemplary officer.

As one of the first children raised under the Empire, Eclipse is shaped by its propaganda. Her father’s anti-Jedi views and loyalty to the New Order influence her upbringing, but she never internalizes hatred for the Jedi. Instead, her greatest desire is to earn her father’s approval—something she never achieves, despite her many accomplishments.

During her time leading Black Eight Squadron, Eclipse is proud of her rapid rise within the Imperial ranks and her close proximity to Darth Vader himself. Yet she remains disturbed by his brutality, particularly during the Battle of Callos, which sows the first seeds of doubt in her loyalty to the Empire.

When reassigned to transport Vader’s secret apprentice, she is intrigued by the mysterious young man known only as “Starkiller.” Initially wary, she gradually grows closer to him. Their bond strengthens as they work to build a rebellion against the Empire. Eventually, she falls in love with Starkiller—whose real name is Galen Marek—and he returns her feelings. Eclipse becomes the primary force behind his redemption from the dark side. After his death, she dedicates herself to the Alliance, determined to honor his sacrifice.

Eclipse does not initially trust PROXY, the holodroid companion of Marek, especially given its programming to kill its master. However, after Marek’s death, she repairs the droid and keeps it with her, seeing it as the last piece of Marek left in her life. PROXY remains by her side aboard the Salvation.

Her opinion of Rahm Kota also evolves. While in the Empire, she views Kota as a fugitive and enemy. But in the Rebellion, she comes to respect him as a friend and crucial ally. She even protects his rogue missions from scrutiny, fearing that political tensions might drive him away from the Alliance.

When Eclipse encounters a renegade clone of Marek, she is overwhelmed—first with joy, believing Galen has returned, and then with heartbreak upon learning of the failed clone experiments. Despite this, her visions during unconsciousness on Kamino convince her that Galen’s spirit endures. She comes to accept the clone as Marek’s true successor, recognizing in him the same thoughts, emotions, and love. She kisses him upon Vader’s defeat, fully embracing him as the one she loves.

The Salvation, a Nebulon-B frigate, remains under Captain Juno Eclipse’s command as she continues to lead the fight for freedom in Marek’s name.

Appearance: Juno Eclipse is a fair-skinned adult female with a slender, athletic build. She has light blonde hair tied back in a low ponytail. She wears a fitted olive-green pilot-style jacket with ribbed shoulder padding and rolled sleeves over a tight, white v-neck top. A utility belt with a rectangular buckle and pouches is fastened around her waist. She wears black tactical pants with seam detailing and knee straps, and black gloves.
