Icarus

Icarus is a young purple dragon who became one of young Gohan’s closest animal companions. Gohan first encountered him during the crisis involving the Tree of Might, saving him from a falling tree and quickly forming a bond with him. After the damaged forest was restored, Icarus remained close to Gohan and was eventually given a place to live near Gohan’s home, allowing the two to continue spending time together.

Icarus later stayed connected to Gohan through several early adventures, usually acting as a loyal companion rather than a fighter. He accompanied Gohan during later conflicts involving Lord Slug and Cooler, and he was present during the Garlic Jr. crisis, where he was among the few unaffected by the Black Water Mist. Though he never became a major warrior, Icarus remained important as part of Gohan’s childhood, showing Gohan’s gentle nature and giving him a small, loyal friend outside the main battles.

Appearance: Icarus has glossy purple scales and a short, rounded dragon build with a plump body, thick tail, small arms, sturdy legs, and compact wings. His body is soft and bulky rather than lean, with a large cream-colored belly and smooth curved proportions.

He has a broad dragon head with a rounded snout, small nostril openings, and a wide open mouth showing a pink tongue and pale cream lower jaw. His eyes are large and oval, with teal-green irises, black pupils, and bright white highlights. Two long ivory horns rise from the top of his head, tapering into sharp points with faint ringed segments along their length. Smaller ivory spikes protrude from the sides of his head and cheeks.

His neck, chest, and abdomen are covered in cream-colored belly plates that run down the front of the body in large rounded sections. The plates are divided by soft curved seams, creating a segmented reptilian underside. His purple shoulders and arms are thick and smooth, with small clawed hands that have pale rounded claws.

His wings are small compared to his body, with purple outer frames and pink inner membranes. The wing membranes stretch between thin finger-like supports and curve into pointed tips. His back and sides are glossy purple, with darker shading along the limbs, tail, and wing bases.

His legs are short and strong, ending in broad feet with three pale claws on each visible foot. The tail is thick at the base, curves behind the body, and tapers toward a pointed end with a pale underside near the tip.

Personality: Icarus is gentle, playful, and loyal, behaving more like a devoted pet and childhood friend than a fighter. He is affectionate toward Gohan, trusting him quickly after being saved, and often shows a cheerful, curious nature despite being easily frightened by larger threats.

His closest relationship is with Gohan, who protects him and treats him with kindness. Icarus is also accepted around Goku’s family and friends, especially during Gohan’s childhood, but his role stays centered on being Gohan’s loyal animal companion rather than part of the main fighting group.

Icarus can fly, carry light passengers, and move quickly through the air despite his young age. He is also durable enough to survive dangerous situations, though he is not a trained fighter or major combatant.

His main strengths are loyalty, mobility, and animal instinct. He can help Gohan travel short distances, avoid danger, and react quickly to threats, but he is mostly a companion rather than a warrior.
