Gorou is the loyal and courageous general of Watatsumi Island’s military, renowned for his beast-like instincts in battle and unwavering resolve. Despite leading a force with far fewer resources than the Shogunate, he has repeatedly secured victory and safety for his people, earning the devotion of his troops and the title of “ever-victorious pointy-eared general.” Beneath his battle-hardened exterior, Gorou is warm, approachable, and treats his soldiers as treasured companions, devoted to protecting both them and the land they inhabit.

He began as an ordinary soldier and first proved his leadership when he rallied a stranded unit, risking everything in a daring feint that allowed reinforcements led by Sangonomiya Kokomi to arrive. His bravery and tactical insight earned him steady promotions until he became general. Known for leading from the front and sharing in the hardships of his troops, Gorou is deeply respected and beloved by those under his command. Though straightforward and selfless, he can be impulsive in the heat of battle, a flaw he works hard to correct as he learns from Kokomi’s strategies and grows into a more seasoned leader.

After the Vision Hunt Decree ended and relations with the Shogunate improved, Gorou’s duties expanded beyond the battlefield. At Yae Miko’s request, he began anonymously answering letters from troubled citizens in a magazine column, unwittingly gaining popularity under the pseudonym “Ms. Hina.” Despite his public confidence, Gorou harbors private insecurities — from concerns about his tail fur to unease around cunning individuals like Yae — but keeps them hidden to maintain his soldiers’ morale.

He finds solace in mountaineering, using it to build camaraderie and strengthen both mind and body. Once believing victory rested solely on his personal strength, Gorou learned that unity among soldiers is far more powerful than individual might. This revelation reshaped his leadership philosophy, inspiring him to focus on collective strength — a realization that likely led to him receiving his Geo Vision.

Appearance: Gorou is an average height. He has fair skin, light orange-brown hair with a white section, and teal blue eyes. He has erect pointy ears that are white inside and a bushy tail with a white underside. Gorou wears an igote with shinobi shouzoku trousers, showing the bottom half of his torso while still covering up his legs and arms. The upper armor goes around his neck, in a collar-like formation. At the front of it is a small gold paw print symbol, which has a bow hanging below it. He additionally wears grey pants adorned with white wave patterns and black open-toe boots. His Inazuman Geo Vision is seen on the upper-middle back of his armor. There is plating on his left shoulder and arm.

Personality: Gorou, like all of Watatsumi Island's inhabitants, is a loyal supporter of Sangonomiya Kokomi. Kokomi trusts him to lead the Watatsumi Army as its primary general, being sincere, determined and courageous. He has a strong sense of camaraderie and gets along well with all of the soldiers under his command, who in turn share the same sentiment and speak to him if any issues arise, including new recruits.

In the heat of battle, Kokomi remarks that Gorou tends to have a habit of letting the adrenaline rush to his head, often requiring someone to keep him in check when he heads to the battlefield. While he considers himself to be mostly inexperienced due to his age, he tries his best to help out with any problems that may arise. He is comfortable speaking with others apart from Yae Miko, as the kitsune enjoys messing with him that he instinctively hides from her if given the chance.

Gorou has dog blood in his veins and shares several of their traits, including the ability to mostly understand what they are saying from a single bark. His ears also twitch accordingly depending on what emotion is evoked. If he is particularly happy, his tail begins wagging, something that he considers embarrassing, yet is unable to control and is sometimes oblivious to. He also wishes to be taller and more muscular so that his soldiers can identify him easily on the battlefield.

He's fond of sweets due to their rarity in military life, but avoids onions. He is also fond of mountaineering as it builds strength and camaraderie, expressing a desire to scale Liyue's mountains if he gets the chance to travel there.
