Felix Faust

Felix Faust is an ancient sorcerer whose life has been defined by an obsessive pursuit of magical power. He has spent centuries studying forbidden occult traditions and seeking supernatural beings willing to grant him greater abilities. Faust has repeatedly bargained with demons and sacrificed others for knowledge or power. His schemes have brought him into conflict with the Justice League and many of Earth’s most experienced mystics.

Faust has frequently attempted to increase his power through stolen artifacts and demonic bargains rather than accepting the limits of his own sorcery. He once sought to free the Demons Three and exploit their power through the mystical objects connected to their imprisonment. In later conflicts he pursued knowledge connected to the source of magic itself and became an enemy of Justice League Dark. His willingness to endanger entire populations for occult power has made him one of the magical community’s most persistent threats.

His hunger for power extends even to his own family. Felix fathered Sebastian Faust and Fauna Faust and attempted to use his children in supernatural bargains intended to strengthen himself. Sebastian survived his father’s manipulation and became a powerful sorcerer in his own right while developing a deeply hostile relationship with Felix. Faust has nevertheless continued pursuing greater mystical authority through demons and ancient knowledge regardless of the consequences for himself or anyone around him.

Appearance: Felix Faust has fair warm-beige skin and a tall lean build. His eyes are gray-blue. His head is covered by a deep purple hood that falls along both sides of his face and continues into a long draped mantle over his shoulders. A gold circlet crosses his forehead with a red eight-pointed star at the center and crescent symbols along the band. A gold crescent ornament rises from the top of the hood.

He wears a long deep purple robe with broad sleeves and heavy folds through the torso and lower body. The neckline is framed by a wide gold collar engraved with dense angular geometric patterns. Thick segmented gold bracers encircle both forearms.

A broad gold belt wraps around his waist with ribbed side sections and a large circular buckle at the center. The buckle contains a red eight-pointed star set within a gold ring. Additional rectangular gold fittings sit along the belt.

The robe extends nearly to the ground with layered folds and an uneven lower edge. Dark purple boots cover his feet and lower legs with pointed angular flares around the ankles.

Personality: Faust is arrogant and calculating with an almost limitless appetite for magical knowledge. He views morality as an inconvenience and treats most people according to how useful they might be to his current ambitions. He is patient enough to manipulate events from a distance and prefers deception or bargains when they can give him an advantage. His confidence can become reckless when sufficiently powerful magic is within reach since the possibility of gaining more power frequently outweighs any concern about the consequences.

Sebastian has one of the most openly hostile relationships with Felix because his father attempted to use his soul as payment for greater power. Felix has shown similarly possessive attitudes toward Fauna and tends to regard his children as extensions of his own magical legacy rather than independent people. The Justice League has opposed him repeatedly while sorcerers such as Zatanna and John Constantine have encountered him through threats involving the wider magical world. Faust can cooperate with enemies when survival requires it but such alliances rarely change his underlying self-interest.

Felix Faust is a master sorcerer with extensive knowledge of black magic and soul magic. He can cast destructive spells and create mystical barriers while summoning supernatural beings or manipulating spiritual forces. His sorcery can produce illusions and transformations as well as curses and magical restraints. He has also used rituals capable of affecting souls and drawing power from other supernatural sources. Faust’s greatest strength is the breadth of his occult knowledge since he understands numerous forms of magic and knows how to exploit mystical laws that less experienced practitioners may not recognize.

Faust frequently supplements his own power with grimoires and enchanted artifacts or objects obtained through demonic bargains. He has pursued some of the most dangerous magical relics in existence and has used specialized ritual components when attempting spells beyond his natural abilities. Unlike sorcerers who depend primarily on physical weapons he treats magical knowledge and supernatural objects as his arsenal. Given sufficient preparation and access to the proper artifact Faust can threaten opponents whose raw power greatly exceeds his own.
