Enric Pryde, also known by the callsign Steadfast, was a human male officer who held the military rank of Allegiant General in the First Order during the First Order-Resistance War. In the last days of the conflict, Pryde was appointed as the commanding officer of the Final Order—a massive fleet of Xyston-class Star Destroyers—by the reborn Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious.Occupying a position of power and privilege, Pryde was a high-ranking First Order officer who wielded authority over the ground and naval forces of the First Order military. Pryde's flagship, the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer Steadfast, was named in honor of the vessel he commanded during his time in the Imperial Navy.

A native of the planet Alsakan, Pryde was born during the twilight of the Galactic Republic and was raised under the reign of the Galactic Empire. Pryde personally witnessed Darth Vader in action as a young fleet officer, and eventually became a captain of a battlegroup. As such, his ideology was shaped by the principles of the New Order, and he became a veteran of the Imperial Military. After the Galactic Civil War, Pryde joined an exodus of Imperial officers, nobles and technologists into the Unknown Regions to flee the New Republic, eventually joining a remnant led by Grand Admiral Rae Sloane that sought to rebuild the Empire.

Pryde eventually became a High Colonel in the remnant, which maintained a covert but close relationship with the Corporate Sector Authority, who in turn provided them with secret funding. At one point, Pryde was assigned the code-named Steadfast, to work with the CSA. The Sith Eternal, a Sith cult that resided on the dark desert planet of Exegol, trusted Pryde, and instructed the Jedi hunter Ochi of Bestoon to seek out Steadfast during the hunt for Dathan, Miramir, and their daughter Rey. Using his authority in the CSA, Pryde provided Ochi with a contingent of CSA troopers and put a tracker beacon on his ship when the family fled in it. Pryde then became part of the First Order and became a secret agent within it for the resurrected Darth Sidious, where his consciousness was thrust into a cloned body of himself and trusted with the news of his rebirth to Pryde. As part of a second wave of leadership that Supreme Leader Snoke kept in reserve after the unveiling of Starkiller Base, Pryde was to serve in this. After Snoke's death, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren supported Pryde's career at the expense of their rival, General Armitage Hux.

While the mysticism of Snoke and Ren were foreign to him, Pryde was more than willing to follow Sidious's new command as an Imperial veteran himself. As a member of the First Order Supreme Council, he supported Ren's alliance with the Sith Eternal, and personally executed Hux for committing espionage for the Resistance. When Ren's mission to Kef Bir led to his renunciation of the dark side, Pryde assumed command over the First Order with the support of the Emperor, who summoned Pryde to Exegol, where he was given command of the Sith fleet.

Enric Pryde was a human male who had blue eyes, fair skin, and gray hair. He wore a unique First Order military officer uniform along with his appropriate rank insignia of the First Order. He also often carried a lacquered ebonwood swaggerstick, which connected to the riding traditions of the military of Alsakan, Pryde's homeworld. As a younger man, he had used death sticks but gave up the drug to fit his mental image of what an Imperial officer should be. However, dealing with Ochi and Bestoon and the CSA made him long for his old stimulant. During that time, he had taken to carrying around a flask of expensive abrax to remind him of the civilization he'd left behind to work with the CSA, growing very annoyed but also laughing heavily at the sight of Ochi gulping down much of the flask's contents.

Beyond his longing for "High Human" culture to make a comeback, Enric Pryde longed for the return of the Galactic Empire and authority to the galaxy. Pryde favorably remembered the spectacle that was the Empire Day parades. Pryde recognized that he knew more about Darth Sidious and Snoke's machinations than most of his cohorts and used it to maintain his own power. He was a pragmatist and considered the Sith fleet his life's work. While looking over it, he found that he could look across it forever.

Unlike his First Order allies, Pryde displayed a tolerance for mysticism but refused to voice his opinions. When the First Order joined forces with the Sith Eternal, he was ambitious to use their forces while most of the First Order clashed with their new allies. Pryde viewed the arcane behavior of the Sith Eternal as by-products of a thirst for power and regarded Sidious as his master, feeling a sense of near-ecstasy as their plans began to unfold. Unlike more arrogant officers, he knew not to disrespect these beliefs and respected them as he had personally seen Darth Vader in action with his own two eyes. General Hux speculated that Pryde had something about him that kept him unafraid, immune, and safe when informing Supreme Leader Kylo Ren of bad news and that it kept him from being Force choked or beheaded and was right as it was his competence that kept him alive.

As a First Order officer, Enric Pryde was a calm yet highly intelligent and ruthless general. Although Pryde served the Order faithfully, he had a disdain for the gruesome and horrible aspects of it. After the Resistance fighters escaped the Steadfast, Pryde was the first officer to identify General Hux's betrayal as the spy against the First Order and ruthlessly executed him on the spot without hesitation, showing no remorse for his actions. Pryde could see the value in the legions of Star Destroyers that had been created by the Sith Eternal, even when others dismissed it. Pryde viewed the Starkiller Base superweapon as an "error" that he held Hux responsible for, as the resources used in its construction and subsequently lost when it was blown up by the Resistance had made it difficult for the First Order to maintain a firm hold on the galaxy, and saw the offer of the Sith fleet as a means of correcting that error.

Although Pryde had ambition when it came to cementing his power, his allegiance was to Darth Sidious alone as a Galactic Civil War veteran of the Galactic Empire and gave control over the First Order to him and the Allegiant General was quite happy when it was revealed that his master returned. Pryde was able to maintain a calm composure even when bewildered.

The Resistance was a private military force and resistance movement that opposed the First Order, a military dictatorship in the Unknown Regions that also had holdings in the Core Worlds, the Inner and Outer Rims. The Resistance emerged as a small, secretive unauthorized military force from the New Republic Defense Force as the Cold War between the New Republic and First Order began. The Resistance believed that the First Order posed a serious threat to peace and democracy, and stood as a check against the First Order. However, the Galactic Senate did not believe them and regarded them having a fixation on the past. The Resistance fought the First Order after they launched a preemptive strike on the New Republic and subsequently occupied large swathes of the galaxy. Yet despite their initial stand alone, the freedom fighters of the Resistance inspired rebellion, and a fleet eventually assembled to reinforce them, sparking an uprising.

The Final Order, also known as the Final Order fleet, the Sith Eternal fleet, the Sith fleet, the Sith armada, the New Order, the New Empire or the Sith Empire, was a massive fleet of Xyston-class Star Destroyers secretly constructed by Sith cultists led by the Sith Lord Darth Sidious on the planet Exegol. Alongside an army of countless Sith troopers, the Final Order was the culmination of an agenda over a thousand years and a conspiracy decades in the making. With each Star Destroyer armed with an axial superlaser capable of destroying entire worlds, the Final Order's objective was to bring the galaxy under the perpetual reign of a new Sith Empire through military force. As the Resistance fought against the First Order, a successor to the Galactic Empire in all but name; adherents to the Sith religion, the Sith Eternal, labored to create the largest armada in galactic history. The Final Order's existence was revealed to Supreme Leader Kylo Ren by the reborn Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, who urged Darth Vader's heir to take the fleet and rule all the galaxy as the new Galactic Emperor. Although Ren renounced the dark side of the Force, Sidious' plans continued apace with the support of Allegiant General Enric Pryde. The Derriphan, one of the many Star Destroyers comprising the Final Order, demonstrated its power to the galaxy by destroying the planet Kijimi. In order to prevent Sidious from realizing his goal of establishing a new Sith Empire, the Resistance navy deployed to the Unknown Regions in a last-ditch effort to prevent the launching of the Final Order.

The Xyston-class Star Destroyer, also known as the Xyston-class Destroyer, the Final Order Star Destroyer, the Sith Star Destroyer, Sith Destroyer, or simply the "planet destroyer," was a model of Star Destroyer exclusively used by the Sith Eternal's fleet, the Final Order. Manufactured by Kuat-Entralla Engineering and essentially derived from the traditional Imperial-class Star Destroyer, the Xyston-class was one of a kind due to its axial superlaser capable of annihilating any world or ship. The Sith Star Destroyer represented the culmination of the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious' vision of a galaxy forced into submission by sheer military might and intimidation.
