Elektra Natchios was born on a Greek island near the Aegean Sea to Hugo and Christina Natchios. Her mother was killed in a yacht shooting, and Elektra grew up close to her father while plagued by visions and voices that led to self-harm. Her father sent her to psychotherapy and pushed her into martial arts training. By age twelve, she had surpassed her sensei, who introduced her to the Chaste. She sought training under Stick, but he abandoned her for her anger. Instead, she was courted by the Hand through Aka, who offered the care Stick withheld.

When her father was appointed Greek ambassador to the U.S., Elektra moved with him and enrolled at Columbia University, where she met Matt Murdock. Aka encouraged her to lure Matt into the Hand, sparking their tumultuous relationship. They trained together, fell in love, and defied Stick’s warnings, but their bond was severed when Elektra’s father was killed during a hostage situation gone wrong. Elektra avenged his death by killing the man behind it, taking her first sai in the process, unaware it was a Hand weapon.

Denied again by the Chaste, Elektra embraced the Hand fully, becoming hardened and corrupted. She worked as a deadly assassin and bounty hunter, eventually clashing and partnering with Daredevil, now aware he was Matt. They fought Bullseye and the Hand together, though Matt condemned her profession. Later, Elektra was hired by Wilson Fisk as his chief assassin. She refused to kill Foggy Nelson when ordered, but her defiance marked her. Bullseye murdered her with her own sai, dying in Matt’s arms.

The Hand tried to resurrect her as a servant, but Stick’s disciple Stone purified her spirit, restoring her. She rejoined the Chaste, battled the Snakeroot clan, and absorbed back her corrupted essence after destroying her dark doppelgänger, Erynys. Seeking purpose, she briefly led her own group, the Ryu, which was destroyed. She assisted Wolverine in regaining his humanity, took contracts with S.H.I.E.L.D., and was killed and resurrected again as a Hand operative under Gorgon before breaking free.

During the Skrull invasion, Elektra was replaced by Pagon, who infiltrated the Hand. When freed from captivity, she returned to a life of mercenary work, clashing with Paladin, Hydra, and H.A.M.M.E.R. She worked with Heroes for Hire, fought in Shadowland, and joined Red Hulk’s Thunderbolts with Deadpool, Punisher, and Agent Venom. Captured later at Pleasant Hill, she lived under a rewritten identity before regaining her memories.

Elektra continued balancing allegiances, working with S.H.I.E.L.D. and opposing the Hand, aiding Deadpool and the Avengers Unity Division in stopping their resurrection plots. She later crossed paths with Miguel O’Hara and Captain America of 2099, uncovering and dismantling operations of the splinter group Fist. Despite betrayals, deaths, and resurrections, Elektra remains one of the most dangerous and skilled assassins alive, forever caught between the darkness of the Hand and the hope she glimpses through her connection to Daredevil.

Appearance: Elektra is an athletic woman with tanned skin. Her long black hair flows freely beneath a red headband, framing sharp features and dark eyes. She wears a tight, sleeveless red garment that clings to her torso and hips, leaving her shoulders, arms, and much of her legs exposed. High slits on both sides of the outfit reveal the length of her thighs, while her mid-thighs and forearms are wrapped in red fabric. Flowing red sashes extend from her arms, waist, and legs.

Elektra possesses a range of extraordinary powers and abilities, many granted or enhanced through her resurrection by the Hand, which connected her to the demonic entity known as the Beast. This bond granted her a set of psychic and mystical enhancements beyond her already formidable human skill. Her Assassin’s Instinct allows her to move and strike with a primal sharpness that borders on predatory, yet without losing her intelligence or tactical thinking. Scientific studies of her brain revealed unique morphology that explained her unparalleled reflexes. Beyond this, she developed the ability to project her consciousness into others, effectively switching minds to track prey, infiltrate, or gain positional advantage. Through this “mind jump,” she can discern her target’s intent, location, and mental state, enabling her to be several steps ahead of her enemies. In extreme cases, she has demonstrated lethal precision by targeting a foe through walls, guided solely by her psychic connection.

Her mental powers extend further, granting her telepathic communication with those trained in similar disciplines, such as members of the Chaste, as well as limited precognition that allows her to glimpse fragments of future events. Elektra is capable of cloaking her mind from detection, creating telepathic barriers strong enough to shield her from even sophisticated tracking devices like Cerebro. She has used hypnosis to manipulate perceptions, telekinesis to exert limited control over objects, and even unleashed a devastating chi-based Silent Scream—a focused sonic attack capable of permanently deafening or killing a target. These powers, while formidable, are not without risk, as they maintain a connection to the Beast, leaving her vulnerable to psychic backlash and corruption.

In terms of physical prowess, Elektra is a master martial artist trained in a variety of disciplines, including ninjutsu, aikido, kendo, karate, and others. She has honed her body to peak human conditioning, with Olympic-level agility, stamina, and strength. Her reflexes are so advanced that she has been shown to slice through a bullet mid-flight with her sai. She is equally skilled in stealth, able to vanish into shadows or bypass detection, and she possesses advanced acrobatics rivaling world-class gymnasts. Her training allows her to precisely manipulate her nervous system, controlling pain, bleeding, and even her emotional responses.

Elektra is also a master assassin and weapons specialist. Her signature weapons are her twin sai, enhanced with synaptic snares and biometric locks keyed to her nervous system, capable of shocking anyone else who attempts to wield them. Alongside her sai, she is proficient with katanas, knives, sansetsukon (three-section staff), shuriken, and virtually all traditional ninja weaponry. Her marksmanship with thrown weapons is expert, and she often combines stealth and precision strikes to eliminate enemies efficiently. Elektra also has intimate knowledge of pressure points, allowing her to incapacitate, paralyze, or kill opponents with exacting precision.

In addition to her physical and martial skill, Elektra is multilingual, fluent in Greek and English, and also proficient in Spanish. While her arsenal of powers and abilities make her one of the deadliest assassins alive, her psychic gifts come with the ever-present danger of psychic feedback, especially when exerting her mind control abilities, and her lingering link to the Beast is both a source of power and a dangerous vulnerability that haunts her existence.
