Edwin Jarvis

Edwin Jarvis served as a pilot in the British Royal Air Force during World War II and was a champion boxer before immigrating to the United States. He was hired as the butler for the Stark family, serving Howard and Maria Stark. Following their deaths, he continued his employment for their son, Tony Stark. When Tony donated his family mansion to be the headquarters for the newly formed Avengers, Jarvis was the only staff member retained, becoming the official caretaker of Avengers Mansion.

Jarvis has served almost every iteration of the Avengers, maintaining the mansion and assisting with the team's daily operations. He has frequently been caught in superhuman conflicts, most notably sustaining severe physical injuries from Mister Hyde when the Masters of Evil laid siege to the mansion. During the Secret Invasion event, a Skrull imposter replaced him to manipulate the team and steal the infant daughter of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. In more recent events, he mentored Nadia van Dyne, the Unstoppable Wasp, and officially introduced her to the Avengers roster.

Appearance: Jarvis has light peach skin and an older, average-built frame with broad shoulders, a thick neck, and a solid, dignified physique. He has a high balding forehead with smooth pale skin across the crown, while short dark brown hair remains around the sides and back of his head. His eyebrows are thick, dark, and strongly arched above blue eyes. Fine wrinkles surround his eyes, forehead, and mouth, with pronounced nasolabial folds, a square jaw, full cheeks, and a broad chin. His nose is straight with a rounded tip. He has no facial hair.

He wears a tailored medium-gray suit jacket over a matching gray buttoned vest and a light blue dress shirt with a pointed collar. A dark navy necktie is neatly knotted beneath the collar. The suit has wide lapels, a breast pocket, flap pockets near the waist, and matching gray trousers. Dark polished leather dress shoes complete the outfit.

Personality: Edwin Jarvis maintains a formal, highly disciplined demeanor at all times, upholding strict British domestic protocol even during active combat situations or extraterrestrial invasions. He prioritizes the operational efficiency of Avengers Mansion and the physical well-being of its residents over his own safety. Despite possessing no superhuman abilities, he consistently stands his ground against hostile intruders and refuses to abandon his post. His composure and emotional resilience function as a stabilizing force for the various Avengers members.

His longest professional and personal association is with Tony Stark, having served the Stark family since before Tony's birth. He shares a profound mutual respect with Steve Rogers, grounded in their shared World War II military backgrounds. He acted as a surrogate father and primary mentor to Nadia van Dyne when she first arrived in the United States. He also maintained a brief romantic relationship with May Parker after they met at Avengers Tower, culminating in a period where they lived in the same residential complex.

Edwin Jarvis is a highly proficient hand-to-hand combatant, utilizing the skills he developed as a three-time boxing champion in the Royal Air Force. He retains his military combat training and is capable of defending himself against standard physical threats and armed intruders. He is also a fully qualified pilot, experienced in operating both vintage military aircraft and various advanced Avengers transportation vehicles.

He possesses master-level expertise in domestic management, including culinary arts, household administration, and logistics for a massive facility. He is trained in advanced first aid and triage, regularly providing emergency medical care to Avengers members before official medical support arrives. Furthermore, he is fluent in multiple languages and routinely operates the complex computer systems and security protocols of Avengers Mansion.
