Kyoka Jiro, known as the Hearing Hero Earphone Jack, is a student of U.A. High School’s Class 1-A training to become a Pro Hero. During the U.S.J. attack, she fought alongside Momo Yaoyorozu and Denki Kaminari against invading villains, using her Quirk to detect enemies and support her classmates. She later participated in the U.A. Sports Festival, chose Earphone Jack as her hero name, and continued sharpening her sensory and combat abilities through internships and specialized training.

During the Forest Training Camp, Jiro strengthened her Earphone Jack Quirk by repeatedly driving her jacks into stone to improve their durability and sensitivity. She later passed the Provisional Hero License Exam and continued her hero studies while Class 1-A adjusted to life in the U.A. dormitories. During the U.A. School Festival, her musical ability became central to the class performance; despite initially treating music as a private hobby separate from hero work, she ultimately took responsibility for organizing the band and performed as its lead singer and bassist.

Appearance: Earphone Jack has fair peach skin and a slim, compact build with narrow shoulders, a small waist, and long slender legs. Her eyes are pale blue-gray with dark pupils and prominent lashes. She has short, dark indigo-purple hair cut into a choppy bob, with uneven angular bangs across her forehead and longer pointed sections around the sides and back. Her earlobes extend into long pale cord-like appendages that terminate in metallic headphone-jack plugs, with the flexible cables hanging well below her shoulders. She wears a loose coral-red sleeveless top with a wide neckline and layered fabric around the hem, beneath a cropped black jacket with a high turned-up collar, long sleeves, and squared pocket flaps. A thin black choker encircles her neck.

Her lower body is covered by fitted black pants that narrow through the calves. White fingerless gloves wrap around both hands and extend over the wrists, leaving portions of her fingers exposed. Her boots are large, dark teal-black, and rise to mid-calf with thick soles, broad rounded toes, and several stacked rectangular padded sections secured around the shafts.

Personality: Jiro is pragmatic, blunt, observant, and usually more comfortable expressing herself through dry teasing than open sentiment. She approaches hero work intelligently, often favoring reconnaissance and coordinated tactics instead of rushing directly into a fight. Music is deeply important to her, although she is initially embarrassed by how seriously she takes it and underestimates the value of a talent unrelated to combat. Organizing the School Festival performance helps her become more comfortable sharing that side of herself with others.

Momo Yaoyorozu is one of Jiro’s closest friends, and the two regularly spend time together while supporting each other during training and school activities. Jiro frequently teases Denki Kaminari and reacts sharply to his foolish behavior, but she trusts him as a teammate and works effectively beside him. She is also close with the other girls of Class 1-A and develops strong bonds across the class, particularly during the preparation for the School Festival, when her classmates encourage her to take the lead because of her musical experience.

Jiro possesses the Mutant-type Quirk Earphone Jack, which gives her controllable audio jacks extending from her earlobes. By inserting them into walls, floors, and other surfaces, she can detect extremely faint sounds and vibrations over considerable distances, making her an effective reconnaissance specialist. She can also channel the sound of her heartbeat through the jacks as powerful vibrations capable of damaging or stunning opponents.

Her named techniques include Heartbeat Fuzz, which amplifies her heartbeat into a destructive vibration attack, and Heartbeat Surround, which directs powerful sound through specialized amplifiers. She is also an accomplished musician with strong singing ability and considerable skill on bass guitar, along with experience playing additional instruments.
