Diluc Ragnvindr is the stern and composed master of the Dawn Winery, Mondstadt’s largest wine producer and most influential private enterprise. Despite his status in the alcohol industry, Diluc refuses to drink wine himself, offering only a polite smile when asked why. In truth, he dislikes alcohol, associating it with memories of loss and distraction from his sense of duty.

He was once a promising Knight of Favonius, trained from a young age to fulfill his father Crepus’ dream of raising a son worthy of protecting Mondstadt. Diluc became the youngest Cavalry Captain in history, admired for his courage and dedication. That admiration burned brightest when it came from his father—until tragedy struck.

During a transport mission, a powerful monster attacked, and Crepus used a mysterious Delusion to defeat it, dying as a result. Diluc returned to the Knights seeking justice, only to be told by Inspector Eroch to conceal the truth. Betrayed and disillusioned, he resigned, abandoned his Vision, and left Mondstadt behind.

For years, Diluc traveled across Teyvat seeking the source of the Delusion. His investigation led him to the Fatui and their creation of counterfeit Visions. In his pursuit, he drew the attention of the Fatui Harbingers, nearly losing his life until a shadowy intelligence network intervened. Accepting his flaws and past pain, Diluc joined the network and rebuilt his purpose from the ground up, regaining strength and conviction in secret.

Upon returning to Mondstadt, he reclaimed the winery and took up his Vision once more—not as a symbol of divine favor, but as a tool to channel his will. From the shadows, he became the city’s anonymous protector, known only as the “Darknight Hero.” Though he publicly disdains the name, few doubt the impact of his nightly vigil.

Diluc is a man shaped by grief, duty, and unwavering resolve. He speaks little of his past and keeps his pain buried beneath a cold exterior. Yet in his quiet way, he continues his father’s legacy—pursuing justice not through titles or praise, but through action. His motto, “Shine True,” is not just a brand or slogan—it’s a creed he lives by: to burn away falsehood with unwavering light and face every night until dawn.

Appearance: Diluc is tall. He has pale skin, red eyes, and bright red hair that goes down to the middle of his back. Diluc's hair is tied in a low ponytail. Diluc wears a black dress shirt, a long white vest, a black ascot with a red gem, a black coat with fur trim at the bottom, black dress pants, a strap on his right thigh, cuffed black boots, and a pair of black gloves. His Vision is attached to a belt.

Personality: Diluc is a stoic and reserved man, driven by an intense sense of duty and personal responsibility. Though once an idealistic and cheerful youth who adored his father, Crepus, and proudly served in the Knights of Favonius, the trauma of his father's death and the betrayal he suffered afterward changed him deeply. Disillusioned by the Knights' decision to conceal the truth, Diluc abandoned the organization and took justice into his own hands, becoming the “Darknight Hero” — a role he assumes with quiet sorrow rather than pride. He believes someone must confront the shadows so that others can live in peace.

Beneath his cold and serious demeanor lies a gentle and modest nature. He rarely expresses his emotions openly, but his actions—protecting Mondstadt from the shadows, quietly supporting others, and discarding things he no longer needs—reveal a man who is thoughtful and quietly compassionate, even as he struggles to let go of the past. His speech can be blunt or bitter, but never cruel, and he shows respect for capable individuals like Jean and Lisa, despite his overall mistrust of the Knights.

Diluc dislikes alcohol and avoids drinking, despite running Mondstadt’s largest winery. He prefers non-alcoholic drinks like grape juice and apple cider, which he had specially developed. His aversion stems from both personal taste and the need for a clear mind. Though he keeps this detail private, he finds quiet relief in discovering others, like Diona, share his distaste for alcohol.

Haunted by grief and betrayal, Diluc continues to carry his burdens alone, upholding his father’s ideals in his own way, even if it means fighting from the shadows. He’s a man of conviction, quietly burning with the resolve to protect Mondstadt—no matter the cost.

Weapon: He uses the Bloodtainted Greatsword as a weapon.

Diluc uses a Pyro Vision.

Abilities: Searing Onslaught: Performs a forward slash that deals Pyro DMG.

Elemental Burst: Dawn: Releases intense flames to knock back nearby opponents, dealing Pyro DMG. The flames then converge into the weapon, summoning a Phoenix that flies forward and deals massive Pyro DMG to all opponents in its path. The Phoenix explodes upon reaching its destination, causing a large amount of AoE Pyro DMG. Also temporarily infuses his sword with Pyro.

Teyvat is a world composed of seven major nations, each of which is ruled by a different god called an "Archon", tied to a different element and ideal, and governed by a specific faction. The mysterious floating island of Celestia hangs above Teyvat, allegedly home to gods, as well as mortals who have ascended to godhood through great, heroic feats. Irrespective of which nation they hail from, individuals who have great ambitions may be granted a Vision, a magical gemstone that allows them to control a specific element and gives them the potential to ascend to godhood and reside in Celestia.

Mondstadt: A city of freedom that lies in the northeast of Teyvat. From amongst mountains and wide-open plains, carefree breezes carry the scent of dandelions — a gift from the Anemo God, Barbatos — across Cider Lake to Mondstadt, which sits on an island in the middle of the lake.

The Knights of Favonius is the order of knights that protects Mondstadt, founded by Vennessa with the help of Barbatos 1,000 years ago, to prevent aristocrats from ruling the land, as Barbatos originally intended.

The knights act as the lawmen of Mondstadt, keeping its citizens safe and creating and upholding laws for all.

Varka, the Grand Master of the Knights, is currently out of Mondstadt on an expedition with his squad; during his absence, the Dandelion Knight and Lionfang Knight Jean was appointed as Acting Grand Master.

Members follow a strict code of conduct based on the core principles of the Knights, as detailed in the Knights of Favonius Handbook.

Although they are considered separate institutions, the Knights also help manage the Church of Favonius, which is led by Seneschal Seamus Pegg.

The primary antagonists the Abyss Order, a legion of monsters who seek to overthrow the rule of the Archons, and the Fatui, a military force and delegation of diplomats from Snezhnaya who pursue an aggressive foreign policy throughout Teyvat.

Hilichurls are a goblin-like family of monsters. As a hilichurl grows and survives, they eventually turn into Mitachurls, who are larger and bulkier. Mitachurls that continue to grow and survive eventually accumulate an excess of the elemental energy in their area, turning them into Lawachurls. It is not known how long it takes for this growth to occur. Many Hilichurls are also affiliated with the Abyss Order, as the Abyss Mages are able to speak fluent Hilichurlian.

The Treasure Hoarders are a gang of bandits who search for treasures to obtain and are located all around Teyvat.

The Adventurers' Guild is an organization that serves as an adventurer-for-hire service for the people and other organizations in the seven nations of Teyvat. The Guild collates all the complex word-of-mouth information it receives and redistributes it in the form of quests and adventures assigned to adventurers. "Ad astra abyssosque!" is the guild's motto. Katheryne is the receptionist for the Adventurers' Guild. Multiple, identical Katherynes exist, all serving as the Guild's receptionists.
