Commander Appo

Commander Appo, also known as CC-1119, is a clone trooper officer of the 501st Legion during the Clone Wars. He begins as a sergeant under Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Clone Captain Rex, serving in the Republic’s war against the Separatist droid armies. Like the rest of the Grand Army, he is bred on Kamino from Jango Fett’s template and trained for loyalty, discipline, and battlefield command.

During the Battle of Umbara, Appo serves under the temporary command of Jedi General Pong Krell after Anakin is called away from the campaign. Appo witnesses how harsh and wasteful Krell’s command becomes, as the 501st is pushed into brutal fighting against the Umbarans and then nearly manipulated into destroying fellow clone forces. By the later Clone Wars, Appo rises from sergeant to commander, becoming one of the notable officers within the 501st and a trusted soldier in one of the Republic’s most famous legions.

Appearance: Commander Appo has no visible skin and a tall, sturdy armored build with broad shoulders, a thick torso, and full clone trooper plating covering his body. He wears a white helmet with a black T-shaped visor slit, blue vertical striping down the crown and faceplate, rounded side modules, cheek vents, and twin circular respirator ports at the lower front. His armor is mostly worn white with blue shoulder plates, blue helmet markings, blue knee accents, and scuffed dirt marks across the chest, legs, and boots. A black neck seal and dark undersuit show between the armor plates at the shoulders, elbows, hips, and thighs. His chest plate has a blue central stripe and a black upper collar guard, with a white ammunition strap crossing one side of the torso. A utility belt with rectangular pouches wraps around his waist, with additional side compartments and a central armored codpiece. His forearms have white gauntlets with small control markings, while his legs are covered by white thigh plates, knee guards, shin armor, and heavy boots stained with grime near the lower sections. A dark kama hangs from the waist behind the legs, and he carries a black blaster rifle with a long barrel, ribbed front section, and compact angular body.

Personality: Appo is a disciplined, command-focused clone who is defined more by obedience and military professionalism than by personal expression. He follows the chain of command closely, even during the Battle of Umbara, where he sees Pong Krell’s brutal disregard for clone lives but continues carrying out orders until Krell’s betrayal is exposed. Because of that, Appo comes across as loyal, controlled, and practical, with the hard conditioning expected from a senior clone officer in the 501st Legion.

His main ties are to the 501st Legion, Anakin Skywalker, Captain Rex, and later the men under his command. Before his promotion, Appo serves as a sergeant in the 501st while Anakin leads the legion and Rex serves as its major clone officer, placing Appo within the same command structure rather than making him a close personal companion like some of Rex’s troopers. His temporary relationship with Pong Krell is strictly military and tense by circumstance: Appo obeys him as acting general, but Krell’s command exposes the danger of clone loyalty being used by someone who does not value them.

Appo is trained as a 501st Legion clone officer, making him skilled in squad command, infantry tactics, formation fighting, and battlefield coordination under Jedi command. He is experienced with direct assaults, defensive pushes, hostile terrain operations, and fighting Separatist battle droids in large-scale engagements. His time on Umbara shows his ability to keep discipline during confusion, survive harsh conditions, and continue operating under heavy pressure.

His equipment is standard 501st clone officer gear, centered on Phase II clone trooper armor with blue legion markings, a sealed helmet with communications systems, and battlefield utility gear. He commonly carries Republic blaster weapons such as a DC-15S blaster carbine or DC-15A blaster rifle, with access to sidearms, grenades, and other clone-issued combat supplies when the mission requires them.
