Chevreuse is the captain of Fontaine’s Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, a branch of the Maison Gardiennage assigned to pursue dangerous criminals and handle cases beyond ordinary law enforcement. She grew up in Fleuve Cendre after her father, Donatello, was imprisoned and her family lost its former home. Chevreuse later joined the Patrol and eventually became its commander, while Donatello entered the same organization after completing his sentence. She developed a strict understanding of justice based on evidence and lawful judgment rather than revenge.

During Fontaine’s Fontinalia Film Festival, Chevreuse joined Furina’s production of The Two Musketeers while secretly investigating murders that resembled events from the novel. She worked with the Traveler and Paimon to examine firearms, question witnesses, and trace the crimes to Morris, who had arranged the murder of his former lover Elisa years earlier. Elisa’s children, Baptiste and Veronique, had pursued revenge against him, with Baptiste accepting blame for one killing while Veronique prepared to execute Morris herself.

Chevreuse staged an attack involving Yoimiya to frighten Morris into confessing, then stopped Veronique from shooting him and arrested everyone responsible. She refused to excuse either Morris’s original crime or the siblings’ acts of revenge, insisting that all of them face formal judgment. Chevreuse has continued serving as the Patrol’s captain and has assisted with later investigations involving figures such as Chiori and Lynette.

Appearance: Chevreuse is an average height. She has pale skin, violet eyes fading to pink, and long violet hair with the tips all swept upwards. Her front bangs have three strands that are white, and she wears an eyepatch over her left eye.

Her hat is a tall black shako, decorated with brass furnishings. Her Ousia-aligned Pyro Vision is on the back, being held by two gold chains.

Personality: Chevreuse is disciplined and direct, with a strong commitment to lawful justice. She doesn’t excuse crimes because the offender suffered first, and she distinguishes justice from personal revenge even when she sympathizes with the people involved. Her methods can be unconventional, including intimidation and staged situations, but she uses them to obtain evidence and prevent further harm rather than to avoid the law. Outside her duties, she is more relaxed and enjoys inexpensive fried food despite her position as captain.

Donatello is Chevreuse’s father and a former member of Fontaine’s Gardes who was imprisoned for accepting bribes. His conviction forced Chevreuse and her mother to move to Fleuve Cendre, but Chevreuse continued visiting him and later joined law enforcement herself. After completing his sentence, Donatello supported her career and helped prepare her application to become captain. Their relationship helped shape her belief that a person must answer for wrongdoing but can still rebuild their life afterward.

The Traveler and Paimon become trusted investigative partners during the Fontinalia Film Festival murders. Chevreuse also works with Furina and Yoimiya while conducting the investigation, using the film production as cover for parts of her plan. Baptiste and Veronique earn her sympathy because of what happened to their family, but she still arrests them for the crimes they committed. Morris receives no special treatment from her and is made to face judgment for arranging Elisa’s murder.

Chevreuse fights with a spear, using quick thrusts and forward lunges to pierce enemies. She can also strike from above by driving the weapon into the ground and hitting anyone caught beneath her.

At range, she uses a musket that fires explosive Pyro rounds. A quick shot damages enemies in a small area and is followed by a period of steady healing for an ally, while a carefully aimed shot can use a stored overcharged round to cause a stronger and wider explosion. She can also fire a large grenade that bursts on impact and scatters smaller shells, which detonate moments later around the surrounding area.
