Cassandra Nova is a mummudrai, a bodiless parasitic life-form that became psychically entangled with Charles Xavier while he was still in the womb. She copied his genetic structure and began forming a body as his twin, but Xavier instinctively recognized her as a threat and attacked her psychically before birth, causing her body to be stillborn. Cassandra survived as a psychic presence and spent years reconstructing herself, eventually creating a physical form genetically almost identical to Xavier’s.

Once fully restored, Cassandra devoted herself to destroying Xavier and everything he had built. She manipulated Donald Trask III and commandeered a massive force of Wild Sentinels, sending them against Genosha and causing the extermination of millions of mutants. After being captured by the X-Men, she exchanged bodies with Xavier and used his identity to infiltrate his life, sabotage his relationships, and spread destruction from within. Her schemes repeatedly returned to the same goal: breaking Xavier psychologically while proving that his dream of coexistence could be turned against him.

Cassandra later resurfaced through other hosts and psychic constructs, surviving attempts to destroy or contain her consciousness.

Appearance: Cassandra Nova has light peach skin and a tall, lean build with broad shoulders, a narrow waist, long arms, and long legs. Her head is completely bald. Her eyes are blue. She wears a close-fitting black high-neck bodysuit that covers her torso and arms, with narrow orange-gold vertical accents running down the front. Over it is a cropped burnt-orange jacket with an exaggerated high collar, broad angular shoulders, long fitted sleeves, sharply structured lapels, and a short hem ending above the waist.

Her lower body is covered by extremely high-waisted white trousers fitted closely around the waist, hips, thighs, and legs. The waistband rises across much of her abdomen and contains several small round silver fasteners near one side, while long vertical seams run down the legs. In the alternate reference, the white lower garment has additional angular panel lines around the hips and upper thighs. Tall black boots cover her lower legs, extending nearly to the knees with fitted shafts and pointed feet.

Personality: Cassandra is cruel, vindictive, and intensely fixated on Charles Xavier. She does not merely want to defeat him physically; she wants to invalidate his beliefs, destroy the people and institutions he values, and demonstrate that compassion leaves him vulnerable. Her mummudrai nature gives her an alien relationship with identity and morality, and she often treats bodies, memories, and personalities as things that can be invaded or discarded rather than boundaries deserving respect.

Charles Xavier is the defining figure in Cassandra’s existence, functioning simultaneously as her genetic twin, psychic counterpart, and primary obsession. She views the X-Men largely as extensions of Xavier’s legacy and therefore natural targets, though individuals such as Jean Grey and Emma Frost are especially significant because their telepathy allows them to confront her on ground few others can survive. Her manipulation of Donald Trask III reflects her willingness to exploit human hatred of mutants whenever it can be redirected toward Xavier’s destruction.

Cassandra possesses extraordinarily powerful telepathy, allowing her to read minds, dominate thoughts, erase or alter memories, project convincing illusions, and attack consciousness directly. She can perform body possession, transferring her mind into another person and suppressing the original consciousness, and can copy or manipulate genetic information well enough to reconstruct physical bodies for herself. Her connection to Xavier’s genetic structure also grants her telepathic capability comparable to his at her strongest.

Her mummudrai physiology gives her extensive cellular manipulation and regenerative abilities, allowing her to rebuild damaged tissue and reshape her body. Cassandra has also demonstrated telekinesis, phasing through solid matter, and the ability to perceive and interfere with living nervous systems at extremely fine levels. Combined with her strategic intelligence and willingness to attack through deception rather than direct confrontation, these powers make containment far more difficult than simply injuring her physical body.
