Captain Dark

Captain Dark, also called Dock, is a Red Ribbon Army officer serving under General Blue during the hunt for the Dragon Balls. When General Blue splits his forces, Dock is placed in command of B Company and sent to raid Kame House, which the Red Ribbon Army wrongly believes is Goku’s base. Their real objective is to capture Master Roshi and force him to hand over the Dragon Radar technology, since Blue’s forces mistake Roshi for the device’s inventor.

Dock leads his troops to the island and confronts Roshi, demanding the radar and preparing to use his whip when Roshi refuses. The mission fails almost immediately because Roshi is not a helpless old scientist but Kame-Sen’nin, a master martial artist. Roshi defeats Dock with a single punch, and B Company is quickly wiped out afterward, leaving General Blue’s side operation at Kame House a complete failure.

Appearance: Captain Dark has fair peach skin and a very short, extremely heavyset build with a round face, large torso, thick arms, and stocky legs. He has small dark eyes behind round glasses, a tiny black mustache, rounded ears, and a bald head mostly covered by his cap. He wears a gray military-style peaked cap with a black visor, small gold side buttons, and a red circular badge with a white “R” at the front.

He wears a gray short-sleeved uniform shirt with a pointed collar, shoulder epaulets, red-and-black trim, two flap chest pockets with gold buttons, and a red necktie hanging down the center. His shirt is tucked into matching gray shorts with a rolled hem, held by a black belt with a square gold buckle. A brown leather pouch sits on one side of the belt, with a flap cover, gold button, and a small dark rectangular device sticking out from the top. His hands are covered by dark gloves, and he wears tall glossy boots with thick rounded toes, blue cuff-like bands at the top, and heavy dark soles.

Personality: Captain Dark is a strict Red Ribbon Army officer who relies on rank, intimidation, and quick punishment to control his men. He acts confident when confronting Master Roshi because he assumes the mission at Kame House will be simple, but that confidence comes from ignorance of Roshi’s real strength. His whip fits his harsh command style, since he carries himself like someone used to forcing obedience rather than earning respect.

His main superior is General Blue, who places him in command of Company B during the Dragon Radar operation. Dark’s direct relations are mostly military, with his soldiers following him to Kame House and Master Roshi becoming the target of his failed raid. His connection to General Blue also shows the pressure inside the Red Ribbon Army, where failure under a stronger commander can quickly turn a subordinate into dead weight.

Captain Dark has no known ki techniques or special martial arts abilities. His shown combat value comes from Red Ribbon Army command training and his use of a whip, which he carries as both a weapon and a tool of intimidation. He leads Company B under General Blue, so he has authority over armed soldiers, but his personal fighting ability is not shown to be high.

In power comparison, Captain Dark is far below Master Roshi, who defeats him with a single punch at Kame House. He is also far beneath Goku and General Blue, since Blue is the true threat of that operation while Dark is only a subordinate officer sent to pressure Roshi. Compared with ordinary Red Ribbon soldiers, Dark is higher in rank and more dangerous through command authority, but as an individual fighter he is one of the weaker named officers.
