Conner Sims served as a United States Marine during the Korean War and became close friends with Adam Brashear after Adam saved his life. The two later worked together on a Negative Reactor that opened a bridge to the Negative Zone. An explosion exposed both men to antimatter energy. Adam became a stable reactor while Conner fell into a coma and developed an unstable connection to the same energy source.

Conner awoke after learning that antimatter poisoning might kill him. He also discovered that the Ku Klux Klan had murdered his brother who had served as an FBI agent. His grief and unstable transformation shattered his mental state. He became Anti-Man and began using deadly force against anyone he saw as part of the hatred and injustice within society. His campaign brought him into repeated battles with Blue Marvel until both men nearly destroyed each other in 1962.

Anti-Man eventually reformed after decades spent shifting between Earth and the space beyond it. He attacked New York and overpowered the Avengers before disappearing again. His return forced Adam out of retirement and led to another confrontation between the former friends. Conner killed many civilians during the conflict and Adam’s wife Candace was among the victims. Blue Marvel ultimately defeated him by disrupting his molecular cohesion and dispersing his antimatter form.

Appearance: Anti-Man has fair skin visible across his lower face. He has an exceptionally tall and massively muscular build with enormous shoulders and a thick armored torso. His head is enclosed by a dark silver helmet with a narrow central ridge and angular cheek guards. A squared metallic chin guard frames his exposed mouth and jaw. Two enormous rectangular fins rise vertically behind the helmet.

He wears metallic gold armor across his chest abdomen arms and lower legs. The chest armor is sculpted into pronounced pectoral and abdominal sections. A raised red triangular emblem spans the upper chest with a thick border and an open center. Broad dark silver shoulder plates sit above the torso with angular outer edges and recessed black sections.

A long red cape attaches beneath the shoulder armor and falls behind him in heavy folds. Segmented gold bracers cover his forearms. Matching gold gauntlets cover his hands and fingers. A broad red utility belt circles his waist with large rectangular compartments across the front and sides.

Dark charcoal leggings cover his hips thighs and knees. A long tan cloth panel hangs from the belt across one thigh with a darker central stripe. Golden armor bands encircle his calves. Tall metallic gold boots rise below the knees with layered shin plates and smooth rounded toes.

Personality: Conner was once a courageous soldier and a loyal friend who trusted Adam as deeply as a brother. He understood the racism Adam faced and carried his own anger over the murder of his brother. His transformation magnified that anger while damaging his ability to think rationally. He came to believe that prejudice could only be destroyed through extreme violence and showed little concern for the innocent people caught in his attacks.

His relationship with Adam remained the strongest connection to his former life. Conner loved his friend yet resented Adam for defending a society that had rejected him. Adam continued to see the man Conner had once been and often tried to reason with him before using force. Their shared source of power made them physical equals while their opposing beliefs made reconciliation nearly impossible. Adam sought to protect humanity despite its failures while Conner wanted to punish humanity for them.

Anti-Man is a living antimatter reactor whose body constantly absorbs and produces energy drawn from the Negative Zone. He possesses immense physical strength and can battle Blue Marvel on equal terms. His body can endure devastating impacts and powerful energy attacks. He can fly at tremendous speed and release antimatter through destructive beams or explosive waves capable of causing widespread devastation.

Conner lacks the molecular stability that Adam possesses. His body shifts uncontrollably between Earth and the space beyond reality which can make him vanish without warning. This instability contributed to his damaged mental state but also makes him extremely difficult to destroy. Even after his physical form is dispersed his antimatter energy can survive and eventually regain cohesion. His powers place him among the most dangerous energy beings on Earth.
