Android 19

Android 19 is one of Dr. Gero’s final creations and among the few androids designed entirely with synthetic components, lacking any biological base. Constructed with advanced cybernetics, Android 19 was modeled after a doll Gero had taken as a trophy from a defeated enemy base—its unsettling, childlike appearance belies the menace beneath its porcelain features. Cold, mechanical, and emotionless, Android 19 follows commands with unwavering obedience, functioning as both an enforcer and surgical assistant during Gero’s transformation into Android 20.

When Dr. Gero elected to abandon his human frailty and achieve virtual immortality, he entrusted Android 19 with the critical task of transferring his brain into a cybernetic body. From that point on, the two operated as a unit, with 19 acting as both protector and executioner. He possesses a formidable energy absorption system through the palm-mounted devices in his hands, allowing him to drain the energy of his enemies and nullify ki-based attacks. This, combined with immense physical strength and inhuman durability, made him a serious threat to the Z Fighters upon his activation.

Appearance: Android 19's appearance consists of completely white skin, two dangling earrings, extra-large orange pants, an extra-large banana white strap-on vest, a broad red sash, and an orange pointed hat with a Red Ribbon Army logo on the front. He is overweight and has pointed, light blue cold eyes. Underneath his hat is a domed glass cranium, similar to that of Android 20 but with a pinkish color and an entirely mechanical brain housed inside.

Personality: Android 19 is the most obedient and loyal of Dr. Gero’s creations, serving as his trusted enforcer and assistant. Programmed with unwavering devotion, 19 carries out Gero’s commands with mechanical precision and unwavering zeal, especially in the pursuit of their mutual vendetta against Goku. Unlike the later androids who exhibit autonomy or rebellion, 19 remains completely subservient, acting as both a combat model and surgical aide—responsible for the successful conversion of Dr. Gero into Android 20.

He demonstrates a disturbing level of sadistic enjoyment in combat, particularly when exploiting an opponent's weakness. This is most evident during his battle against Goku, where he takes visible pleasure in the Saiyan’s suffering from the Heart Virus. Confident in his own strength and energy-absorption technology, 19 tends to overestimate his capabilities—an arrogance born from incomplete and outdated combat data collected during the Saiyan and early Trunks sagas.

His reliance on this limited data proves to be a fatal flaw. While he is able to overpower a weakened Goku, he is completely outmatched when confronted by Super Saiyan Vegeta, whose training far exceeded the parameters 19 had been programmed to expect. When faced with overwhelming power, 19's emotionless façade collapses—he is shown to experience fear and even panic, desperately attempting to flee before being mercilessly destroyed.

Though synthetic and seemingly devoid of emotion, Android 19’s personality reflects both Gero’s vindictiveness and his blind confidence in cold calculations.

Abilities: Flight - The ability to fly without the use of ki.

Energy Absorption – also known as Life Drain 19. A technique where Android 19 takes hold of an opponent with his hands and proceeds to drain their energy through his palms.

Photon Shot - The user fires an energy wave from their hand, specifically from their Energy Absorption pads.

Cybernetic Pain - It is a very fast combo consisting of a punch across the face, an elbow to the back, a knee to the midsection, and a powerful double axe handle to the midsection, inflicting a high amount of damage.

Rolling Crush – Android 19 kicks the opponent up and grabs them in mid-air to perform a spinning piledriver.

Power Break – Android 19 kicks the opponent up in the air, and then he kicks and punches them down again.

False Courage - The technique makes the user resistant to being stunned or paralyzed. Due to this increase, one can appear to be semi-invulnerable to physical and sometimes energy type techniques, though they still take damage to a lesser extent.
