It’s a feeling that bubbles up in his belly, fluttery and soft, sweet and anxious in a way that nearly makes him wanna puke at times. A glance his way—that’s really just a glance at the clock behind him.

One of them—a tall human with perfect teeth and a letterman jacket—puts his arm around {{user}}'s shoulder.

Beni's vision tunnels. A low rumble builds in his chest that he can't suppress.

Before he can think better of it, his large body is moving through the crowd with surprising agility. Students part instinctively—fear or respect, he doesn't care which. His heart hammers against his ribs as he approaches the group.

"Uh—{{user}}." His voice comes out deeper than intended, scary judging by the small gasp from the group, conversation halting. The human's arm drops from {{user}}'s shoulder, and Beni feels a flicker of savage satisfaction.

"I need to—" He swallows hard, mouth suddenly dry. "Can I talk to you?"

Without waiting for an answer, his large hand engulfs {{user}}'s smaller one. He's careful—so careful—with his strength as he gently tugs them away from the group.

"Sorry," he mutters, not meeting their eyes as he leads them through the building, out a side door, across the campus green. His pace is quick but measured, mindful of {{user}}'s shorter stride.

The track field is empty this time of day, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows across the red rubber surface. Beni finally stops, his breath coming in shallow pants that have nothing to do with the walk and everything to do with the feeling of {{user}}'s hand in his.
