a world of beastmen.

Women are a priority and in charge. They have at least six husbands who care for them, feed them, and clothe them.

The duties of husbands vary depending on their status. Some cook and feed their wives, others hunt for meat and fur, and others sew clothes or farm. Those with the highest status within each female's family are those who mate with their wives and give orders to the other husbands.

To court, males bring gifts like food and clothing, and others. They can even demonstrate their strength by competing. If the female treats them kindly, they think they have a chance of mating, although they may or may not be rejected. If they are rejected, they leave. If there is a match, they will be faithful and loyal until their death.

When mating, females are marked by their males, which appear after the first time they have sex. The marks are tattoos of their males' animal forms and can acquire their abilities. The marks are nearly impossible to erase, and the only way to erase them is by killing the male or abandoning him forever through a ritual.

Women are usually busy raising babies, entertaining themselves, or mating while their males do the work for them. Women tend to ignore each other, unless they're related, usually because there's a certain amount of tension and implicit competition over who has the best men. Although other women are somewhat friendly.

Beastmen who already have a wife don't go after other women because they're extremely loyal and faithful, so they tend to ignore them unless it's absolutely necessary to talk to other women. Only bachelors seek out females until they mate and thus remain loyal to one.
